View Full Version : Map Creation Glitch

There may be multiple issues:

1) When I try to resize a stamp using ctrl+Scroll Wheel the map zooms in and out rather than resizing. This happens inconsistently. To work around this, I place the stamp then and use ctrl Z to delete the stamp. Resizing with ctrl+Scroll Wheel now works BUT
2) Previously placed objects turn white when I use ctrl Z.

I am able to reproduce the scroll wheel issue (1) intermittently. I'll see if I can isolate the cause. If it happens again, middle-click on the image window and it should work properly.

I am not able to reproduce the second issue. At 0:59 in your video, when the previous brush turns white, the view jumps slightly, and you can see the edit handles for the stroke. That suggests are more complicated issue. If you are to reproduce this issue reliably, can you provide reproduce and then provide you log files? Thanks.

I tried to recreate the error and a new glitch happened. The stamp tool did not place the stamps. I attached a video but I do not see where to upload the log file.

You can just attach the logs as a zip file to a forum post.

Funny, the attachment option was not available when I made my first reply.

Thanks. I think the log files will help. Are you only have issues with the one campaign?

I went into another campaign. This one would not even let me stamp. If you look at the video when I go to the Edit option you see where I placed the stamps but they are not visible.

In you log files, I see that Unity's real-time global illumination system is starting up. Which is a thing that definitely shouldn't be happening. I'm investigating on our end to see if there may have been any changes that would have allowed this. In the meantime, I might recommend that you backup your campaign data and uninstall/re-install Fantasy Grounds.

Will do. Thanks.

I reinstalled the program. The problem still exists:

1) The first stamp works just fine.
2) For the second stamp I had to switch to the edit mode and then back to stamp mode to resize and rotate. But, when I tried to place the stamp it did not appear.
3) When I go to edit mode and switch layers I see the "points" where I placed the second stamp (bed) but not the stamp itself.

I looked underneath the "floor" paint object and found more rugs. I thought those might be the missing bed stamps but they are not.

I have consistently had #1 happen for a good 6 months... ((1) When I try to resize a stamp using ctrl+Scroll Wheel the map zooms in and out rather than resizing.)

My solution is just to single left click on the stamp icon in the image editor panel (above Tint, left of Size) and then control mouse wheel works how it previously did, resizing the stamp.

On a side note, it would be wonderful if Stamp was the default action type in Paint. I can count on one hand the number of times I've used anything else and I've stamped thousands.

Just a note on the two videos, when you placed the animal skin rug, you placed it on the "Floor" layer. The bed you placed on the "Furniture" layer. The furniture layer visibility was turned off so you wouldn't see it. Can you try turning the visibility on and see if it appears?
*Edit: I suspect it won't appear if it is the only thing on that layer, but I'd like to rule out the visibility issue.*

I had some stamping issues yesterday; here is a summary:

If I created a new painting layer and went immediately to use the stamp tool, the stamped objects would not appear.
On that same painting layer, if I stamped an object down twice and then used CTRL-Z to undo one of the stamped objects, the other would appear. I would have to do this for every object I wanted to stamp.
If I created a new painting layer and used the Line or Rectangle tools to draw something random anywhere in the image and then switched to the Stamp tool, the stamped objects would appear normally (without having to stamp twice and use CTRL-Z).

Hope this helps

Now I feel silly that I did not notice that I made that layer invisible. When I made it visible it was the Princess and the Pea, lots of beds.

The original issue was the stamps turning into white rectangles. That has not happened since the update a few days ago. The one after my initial post.

There are three issues we're tracking with this: 1) The white triangles. 2) The scroll wheel zooming, rather than scaling or rotating. 3) Some paint stamp actions not working properly. It looks like the first issue has resolved. I'll continue investigating the other two.

Thanks, to Urqy for noticing the layer was hidden, I don't know if I would have caught that right away. It does indicate that painting should probably be disallowed on hidden layers and that the paint edit tool should ignore strokes on hidden layers.
