View Full Version : Still Have Issues

On my player machine, I see my player token but cannot see any friendly or enemy tokens. On my DM machine I see all tokens.

On the DM side I'll use the player token and target an enemy. On my player side, I can see the target is listed in the CT but I do not get the arrow with the range to the target nor can I see the token as already stated. I'm too tired to turn off all extensions and investigate this.

On a related note, I was painting some boot tracks onto a map and when I was done and closed out the editing window, the boot tracks were still locked to the mouse pointer. I had to close map and reopen for the boot tracks to let go the mouse pointer.

Please provide a screenshot of the map and the combat tracker on the GM side for the targeting issue, please show the map in edit mode so we can see the settings.

There was a hot fix released today that should resolve these issues. Can you launch Fantasy Grounds and check for updates? Thanks.

Both machines were updated minutes before trying this within the last one-hour.

The issue is not really the targeting but that the player cannot see tokens. I just mentioned the targeting because it shows on the DM side that the token can target something and the player can roll an attack and hit, but the Player Token cannot see what is targeted. Anyhow, more importantly...

I found something out. The Player Token I was playing around with is human. I had given it a torch. However, I took away the torch and put Darkvision on the character sheet and then the Player Token could see the monster tokens on the map. The minute I took Darkvision off the character sheet and gave it a torch again, the player-side lost sight of tokens.

What ruleset are you using?
What effect did you use for the torch?
Please provide the screenshot requested in post #2.

The update that @pindercarl is referring to is still incoming; but will be released later today.

I just pushed the most recent batch of hot fixes. However, I noticed that the token visibility fixes that @pindercarl mentioned went out yesterday evening.

Perhaps the hot fix wasn't installed yet on the GM and/or player machine when it happened? Does it happen with the latest client build?
Also, the screenshot that @Trenloe requested will help make sure the vision/lighting is set up correctly.

I had the most up-to-date install at the time of the previous test and post.

I have the most up-to-date install as of this post.

Again, on my DM computer I have a torch on the player token. On the DM end, if I take the torch off, all sight is lost. With the torch on, I can see the map and the tokens.

On the Player end, with a torch, the player token can see the map but not other tokens. When Darkvision is input onto the Character Sheet, the player can now see map and tokens.

I do not know why I cannot include a screen shot. I've done it before. I'll include it in a response to an e-mail I receive notifying me of replies.

You can provide the screen shots and/or zipped up campaign, via the following steps:

* Click Go Advanced button below reply text in forums.
* Click Manage Attachments buttons in the details.
* Click the Choose File button in the pop-up window.
* Click the Upload button to attach the file.
* Close the pop-up window.
* Click the Submit Reply button.

Doug is attempting to investigate why the direct image attachment is no longer working.

It worked! Ok, 003 is with light on the token/char sheet only. My player on his computer could not see the tokens. 004 is when I input Darkvision on the character sheet and then he could see the tokens.

Note, I have no extensions running. Zero.

Thanks for posting the screenshots. I'm afraid I'll need a copy of the campaign to properly diagnose.

Let me know how I send that to you.

Let me know how I send that to you.

If you can zip up a copy and attach it here, that would be best. Otherwise, a link to Google drive file or something similar is good. If neither of those work, and the zip file is small enough, just email it to me at [email protected]. Thanks.

I assume I can send it via this thread

It did not attach in the Advanced Options. I must've done something incorrectly.

I zipped the Campaign file and I get this msg

Your file of 72.92 MB bytes exceeds the forum's limit of 9.54 MB for this filetype.

You can just try emailing it to me. Thanks. [Edit: Oh, I don't think 72MB will make it through as an e-mail attachment. Can you share it via Google drive and send me the link?]

Thanks for staying up late and working on all this stuff. I'm going to do a little more investigating on my end. One thing I realized is that my maps are WAYYY too big and so I will reduce them. Also, I am wondering if how I save my tokens might impact things. That is, I do not put my custom tokens in the Tokens folder in FGU, but rather, I save my tokens in the Campaign Folder in the Images Folder within which I create a folder titles Tokens. I'm going to see if moving them out to the regular Tokens folder does anything. Otherwise, I'm going to take tomorrow to investigate more and clean up my campaign. Thanks!

I played with it more tonight and it might be correlation as I've not tested it directly, but my suspicion is that somehow the ambient lighting or its mask is involved.

Thanks for looking into this further. Ambient lighting masks were the culprit. This should be fixed in the next update.

A hot fix has been pushed to address this issue, as well as a few others. Please run a new Check for Updates to get the latest version.

Good to hear you think you have the culprit. Sorry I could not get you a copy of the campaign but I discovered my maps were 27mb and 36mb in size which made for a zip file of the campaign too large to send. However, I started to re-do my campaign on smaller maps so I could get a zip size that I can send and in that re-do noted that a problem seemed to occur whenever I added an ambient lighting mask. I'll check the latest update tonight when I can. But for now will hold off on getting you a zip of my campaign in regards to this issue. Thanks to you all!

I believe that the ambient lighting mask issue was one of the fixes that went out this morning; if you haven't updated since a couple hours ago.
