Newb GM. Have had FG for years, but am just now diving in.

How do I use a Staff of Power in 2E? Equipped one on a character and dropped him into the CT--the item registers, but no powers show in the field. Am I supposed to manually add the various spells to the item? How do I cast them in combat, if so? For reference, I equipped him with a Wand of Lightning and its cast abilities showed up in the CT...

Probably an obvious answer, but I'm pulling my hair out. And as an older guy, I don't have a lot of hair.

Thanks.

Welcome to the forms!

If you have the Player's Guide, once the Staff is in a PC inventory and then equipped, you should see the Actions it grants on the Actions Tab (on the Powers sub-tab), in a new section called Staff. I attached a picture below of where you should spot it.

This Actions tab populates with spells and attacks automatically, so if you equip a dagger the Actions tab will list a Ranged and Melee dagger 'Action' and is where you'd click while in combat to get it to attack some NPC.
