When I use a pistol and crit I believe the damage die should be increased, in this case a 2d10 but it is rolling a 3d1058589

Any ideas?

It has the fatal d10 trait. https://2e.aonprd.com/Traits.aspx?ID=178

I've also moved this post to it's own thread as I this is not related to the R19 testing currently going on.

Eh? That seems to be how Fatal should work. Think of it as a stronger version of Deadly. Deadly adds the specified damage die on a critical hit, while Fatal not only adds the die but also upgrades the regular damage dice.

So while if it were Deadly d10, the critical damage would be 2d6+d10... Fatal just makes it 3d10.

The increase of the damage die is correct. But I think it should only crit with one extra die, not two. the normal weapon damage is 1d6, upping to 1d10, add one extra hit die. I'm I reading this wrong?

(From Archive of Nethys) The fatal trait includes a die size. On a critical hit, the weapon’s damage die increases to that die size instead of the normal die size, and the weapon adds one additional damage die of the listed size.

FG rolls all of the dice for a critical hit - in line with the option on page 451 of the Core Rules. So the 2d10 is from the increased base damage die and a critical (double damage) plus the additional fatal dice.

As Trenloe said, you can think of it as 1d10 (regular damage) + 1d10 (critical damage) + 1d10 (fatal damage).
