Best use of Images Folder

I have a question on the general images folder in fantasy grounds and the campaign images folder. I assume FGU loads the images in the campaign folder when you start it up. But are images stored in the main images folder also loaded? I'm asking because I have images I will no longer be using in my campaign. I moved them into the general images folder in case I may need them in the future? But if those images in the general folder are also loaded when I start FGU, then I will just move them out since I don't need them.

The images directory in the main <FG app data> directory is loaded by all campaign.

I don't put but a literal handful in the data directory images folder. I have another set of folders outside of FG I keep them in and then only copy in what is needed for a campaign. Otherwise the asset list gets challenging :)
