If you are having problems with the updater timing out, despite configuring your router, try the following:
Unplug your connection from your router DIRECTLY into your cable or DSL modem.
Procede with the update. It should update normally.
After the update is over, you can reconnect your router. The main thing that seems to have problems over a router are the updates.
This worked wonderfully for me.
