In the core book it has a list of the animal companions and stat blocks. I dont see how I can use them in the game however. So I have to make separate character sheets manually?? I dont see badger in the bestiary and they level with the player character so I'm not sure a NPC would really work anyways?

What do all of you do to solve this problem?

Thanks

As far as I know, in the current version of the ruleset (v 18), you'll have to make a character and link them to their master. Trenloe explained that for familiars (it's very similar to animal companions) in this post: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?77971-Best-Practices-for-Familiars&p=688367&viewfull=1#post688367

If you feel you don't want a whole character sheet for an animal companion, it's also possible to create one as an NPC. Once you have it added to to combat tracker, you can drag the token over to the player icon at the top-left of the screen, and that will share that NPC with the player, so that they can view its sheet and move the token and stuff. You won't be able to automate initiative rolls and stuff, but the simpler sheet might be preferable to some people.

We use this extension: https://forge.fantasygrounds.com/shop/items/319/view

Then in your characters menu, click import and select the appropriate animal.

Not sure if badgers are included, but this is how we handle a bear companion.
