Dice Missing from FGU Main Page

I have FGU open, and at the bottom left of the screen, where the row of dice normally sits, I only have d8, d6 and d4, no d20, no d12, no d10, no d100

and also, the d6 doesn't have visible numbers, just a solid black on all faces of the die.

Has this happened to anybody else? I didn't notice if the dice were there before I ran "Check for Updates' this afternoon.

I'm not seeing that issue on our machines. Perhaps some more information can shed some light.

* Can you try changing the dice and color in the Dice menu? Does that fix it? If so, what dice set did you originally have selected?
* Which ruleset do you have open?
* Do you have any extensions running? Do you see the same issue without extensions?

Hey, I just tried to change dice and text color, and it changed the color of the three dice. I have the standard default dice set, I didn't change anything on them. I've got the Core Ruleset and 5e Ruleset both from 6-27-23 And I don't have any extensions at all

That's odd, since I just fired up the 5E ruleset and didn't see that, and haven't had any other reports.

Perhaps uninstall and re-install might fix the issue, since that will reset the executable.

I'll give that a try, but will it save my campaigns and books that I purchased?

The items you purchased are tied to your forum username not any campaign or computer though you will need to open them in the new campaign. Creating a new campaign does not effect already existing campaigns.

I would recommend backing up your FG data folder just to be sure.

The installer does not delete the FG data folder by default (unless you have overriden the default and set it to the exact same folder as the FG app folder).

Okay, the uninstall - reinstall fixed the issue, and I have all my campaigns and purchases

You can disable specific dice from the Dice window via the Desktop Dice feature. This doesn't explain the blank d6, but maybe this had been done by mistake?

No, I'm fairly certain I didn't mess with the Dice Option, because I didn't even know it was there until after I noticed the problem. But, thinking about it, when it was downloading updates, there was an error in one of the sections (sorry, I don't remember which one), so that may have been driving the issue. But since the reinstall fixed the issue, I'm good to go!

This is now happening to me.

It is accompanied by additional display issues with map controls and on the front page.

Have uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail.

FGU is functioning properly on other PCs.

Make sure that the dice are visible. Click on the dice icon in tools and at the top of the window that opens under display dice click on the ones that you are missing to see if that fixes your problem.

IF MR. Z's suggestions does not solve it, make sure you test in a new campaign with No Extensions.
If you are still seeing this, please Compile Logs and attach here as well as a screen shot or two.

Problem still persisted and had to cancel my game on Monday.

Was persistent between campaigns and independent of extensions.

Copied campaigns loaded fine on other computers.

Updated today and the problem has been resolved.

I also had invisible dice error today - same dice are missing; d20, d12, d10. Accompanied by some of the HUD elements in the FGU launcher when you first load it up being missing.

For example, the dots inside the empty pips for the radio selectors, for both the server type and choosing extensions are missing.
Additionally, the default button graphics on the left-hand side don't show, but the selection graphics for each button do, once you choose (load campaign, join campaign, etc). The buttons still work, but the graphical elements seem to be missing or bugged.


Not sure if the two are connected. I will update my drivers and attempt a reinstall to see if it fixes it, and report back.

Sounds like the files are not being installed correctly; or files are being changed by another program (such as security/antivirus software); or running on an unsupported OS.

What OS are you running?
Also, check any security/antivirus software to make sure no files are being quarantined incorrectly.
