After the 4.4.2 update, my campaigns do not show in the Load Campaign window. I checked the FG folder from the folder icon and the campaign folders are there, but they are missing files. I compared it to my last backup and campaign files and tokens are missing. Did FG erase these files during the update? I hope not, because I did a lot of prep work last night and I'd hate to have lost it.
Attached are screenshots.

Did you install FGU to a custom file path initially? Did any directories change or did you use all defaults? Fantasy Grounds Unity does not usually touch the campaign folder.I would also check to see if you are experiencing any physical hard drive failure. Check for corrupted files, etc.

Also make sure you are not syncing to Google drive or some other cloud drive. But I would expect a corrupt db not a missing campaign folder in that case.

I'm assuming your first image is the current state of the files in your campaign folder and the second image is from your backup. In your first image the db.xml is completely missing and that is the file with all of your campaign data in it. So that file seems to have been moved out of the campaign folder. You don't show enough of the files in the backup but I assume that there is a db.xml in that. To reinstate your campaign copy that file back into the campaign folder.
There are several other files such as the CampaignRegisstry.lua, modulestate.xml, extensionstate.xml and campaign.xml and the chattlog.html which are all missing from the campaign folder. The only files in fact that are in the campaign folder are backup files from the 7th and 21st of June. So not even the backup file from your last session (which by the date of your post sounds like it was 27th or 28th June) are there.
So it looks like all of those files were moved rather than copied perhaps. I can't see what the contents of the tokens and images folder are so I can't say what they should look like. But if you reinstate all of the files I've mentioned then you should get your campaign back.
I'd reiterate what Griorgre says above. Don't have an active sync back up. This is exactly the kind of issue that can happen when you do that. Make sure that if you do use a cloud back up that it isn't active when FG is active.

1. FGU not installed to a custom directory and I always use defaults.
2. I ran CHKDSK (I'm on Windows) and it found no errors on the har drive.

Good call, but no dice. I checked both Google Drive and OneDrive and none of the files I am missing are there.

Thanks Zacchaeus.I'm completely perplexed as to what caused this. The only thing I can think is different is moving from a desktop to a laptop to be more mobile. I uploaded my FG folder from my desktop to Google Drive, installed FGU on the laptop, and copied over my FG folder. I double-checked to make sure all my campaigns, tokens, characters, etc. were in the right places and they were. I didn't touch the laptop again for a few days until two nights ago when I did some prep work for my Curse of Strahd game. I opened up FG to do prep work last night, updated to 4.4.2 and that's when I noticed my campaigns were missing and I made my post.
I have checked both Google Drive and OneDrive and none of my missing files are on either one. I ran CHKDSK to make sure there were not problems with the hard drive and no problem.
I'll restore my last back up, redo my prep back that up and see if it happens again. Lesson learned.

Okay, this caught me by surprise. I just reloaded my last backup and all of my prep work I did two nights ago pulled up. I know there's a logical reason, I just don't know what it is. :-)

Clearly your karma is strong... :D
Obviously this type of thing is always a call to make regular backups. Glad you got it sorted out.

Is your FG Data folder pointing at Google Drive?

I don't...think so. How can I tell if it is?

Launch FG, on the Splash screen click the Explorer icon.
It will open a Windows Explorer window.
Click in the address bar and copy that path.
Paste it here - you can remove or obfuscate your name.
Or compare it to mine below:
C:\Users\Damian\AppData\Roaming\SmiteWorks\Fantasy Grounds

Nope, not pointing to Google Drive.

Ok that is good.
I dont know whey your files disappeared- its definitely not normal behavior.
Good to see you are doing periodic backups.

@ppostel your third screenshot in post #1 shows that you're using a cloud sync/backup service on your live FG files - maybe OneDrive? Doing any sync/backup while FG is running is not recommended as it can cause issues with corrupting FG data because it tries to sync live data that FG is using which can cause issues - just like you're seeing here.

I was writing to check if they had ran a backup while FG was running and also to make a point for others reading this post.
