Hello. My friends and I have nearly completed a second play through of the Beginner Box as we learn both FG and PF2e.

1. Character tokens of characters lacking darkvision sometimes can't be found on the map by the owning players. I tried putting a 2' light effect on the tokens to no avail. How can I illuminate the tokens for the players without providing mechanic breaking lighting effects?

2. I've been trying to tone down the final boss in the Beginner Box, the Wyrmling Green Dragon. I can unlock the mob's data sheet and modify numbers. How do I modify the Melee and Breath Weapon entries?

Thank you.

I've moved this to the PF2 channel so more people that know this ruleset will see it.

Players should always be able to see their token on the map no matter what lighting or vision is in play. Make sure that the tokens are placed on the map by dragging onto it from the Combat Tracker. Other than that I'm not sure why players would not be able to see their tokens. Can you show us a screenshot of the issue showing the map unlocked so we can see the settings in the right hand panel.

I can't answer the second point because I don't have the beginner box; but if you can unlock the NPC you should be able to edit anything in it.

Editing the Melee entries is pretty straight forward - click in the box and move an arrow key to see the cursor, then make the changes you need. In the attached screenshot you can see that I changed Jaws to do 2d12 instead of 2d8 by simply replacing the 8 with a 12.

The Breath Weapon is different as it seems to be hard coded somehow and not parsing (or at least to not to my testing). In the attached screenshot you can see that I can alter the text, but in the combat tracker there's a 2nd section that ignores the text.

That looks like the automation field option isn't on. See here for more information https://fantasygroundsunity.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FGCP/pages/2042789889/PFRPG2+-+NPC+Ability+Automation

That was it; once I enabled it I was also able to edit the Breath Weapon.

1. We figured out the lighting issue. The players were expecting the active character in the Combat Tracker to be active token on the map. I didn't realize the problem. My players are playing two characters each. So when the player clicks on one token to activate it, he loses vision on his other token. Simply deselecting the token restores vision of his other token.

2. Under Melee, I was not seeing the cursor. It is mighty thin. Thank you for cluing me into the Automation setting. That works quite well. :)
