Where do I copy a backed up character to import them?

I have a campaign I need to import 4 characters into from a different campaign that was saved on another computer. I exported the characters and saved their xml files.

Where do I need to copy these characters to import them into the campaign on my other computer.

Anywhere you like on the same computer that the campaign that you want to import them is on. Click on Import character from the characters menu and then on import character file (small blue buttons that appear at the bottom of the screen). Then just navigate to wherever you put the xmlo files.
