Hi There,

Been trying to get this working, I found some .webm files...do I just drop them into the campaign folder under assets? and then create an image record? When I did that, it just shows as a blank white box? Is there any tutorials or documentation (step by step), on how to actually get this working that isn't that technical so it's easy to follow along?

Thanks!

You'll see a few recent threads that discuss this. FG (due to the Unity platform) only support VP8 codec for WEBM files - VP9 is not currently supported by Unity, so FG doesn't support it either.

Thanks, sorry I'm not that technical, what is a codec, and how do I know if a map is using it?

A codec is the 'language' or method that the information is stored in the file. VP8 is like elvish, and vp9 is like dwarvish. Unity can not read dwarvish and you will know if you image is in vp9 because FG will show a blank white box for the image.

There are tools to convert from vp9 to vp8. See this thread; https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?78124-WEBM-converter-to-vp8-for-Dungeon-Alchemist-with-instructions

If you're running on Windows 11, the steps in this thread will help show which Codec is used: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?78141-Quick-check-of-WEBM-VP8-VP9-Codec-Windows-11

Probably the best place to ask this, but does anyone know whether animations can be linked to spells - the same as audio can be linked to weapons now?

I think I know the answer, but thought I'd check.

The Spell Token extensions work with the new animated tokens, if that's what you are asking. I use the B9 one from the Forge, and it works great. I dropped my first animated spell token on a map last night. Looks so cool.

You also need this extension, which is free:

That looks amazing! And does the token for the effect match the size of it? So if it was a 30x30ft cube, the token would match it on the grid?

This does look interesting. In addition to Winter's question, does it target the creatures if you drop it on them or is that still manually done?

To answer both questions, essentially, yes:

There’s a premade set of spell tokens (I’ll put the link to it in here in a few). You can also resize tokens in the Spell menu table which sets their size and presentation for each spell. Also, when you drop the spell token on a map you can resize it then, too, if needed.

And yes the tokens have a targeting function for every NPC or PC within the token size. It’s a simple right-click… choose enemy or friendly.

B9 has a full thread in the forum on this that links through the Forge page. You’ll love them!

Answered above. :)
