Updates are going very slowly

I'm trying to update right now to 4.4.0 and it's taking forever.

Yes, we just announced the release a very short time ago; and there are lots of people hitting the server, lots of products updated and about 20 new product releases as well.

I guess the lesson is don't schedule our game the same time as an FGU release. We don't get to play today.

We always recommend not updating right before a game, since not everyone may have updated, some extensions may need to be fixed, and so on.

In this case, it's one of our largest releases since the original FGU came out, so it's causing a lot of server overhead.

If you leave the updates running, it is still getting through them, just slower than usual.

I will second Moon's suggestion to never update right before game time. For us it's not usually the speed of the downloads, but rather the small chance that something (usually extensions) might break causing us to not be able to play or to have problems.

Rather what we do is when we are done for the night we all run updates. That way it never impacts our game sessions :)

Sounds like a safer approach.
