View Full Version : Bug: Dark themes and the character sheet

Dark themes seem to have a couple of issues with the PC character sheet. Here I am using FG Modern Dark though it applies to FG Dark and other dark themes. The golden shields for AC related items on the Main and Combat Tabs are hard to read with the lighter color fonts that dark themes use.
Also, on the Main Tab, it looks like the ability score labels are hard coded as a dark color font. Again, this isn't easy to read or consistent on a dark theme.

Recently, players and I are having similar issue in the Dark theme where it is very difficult to see the circles on the character sheets. 5E rule set. 60955

(D&D 5e ruleset) I am also having similar issues with the PC character portraits that are on the FGU desktop upper left corner. The names are a dark font and the coloration of the name boxes are also dark. Result is, you can't read the PC names under their portraits and can't change the font color either in the system. 62309

It looks like you possibly have more than one theme running (since I see what looks like the Wood theme background).
You can only have one theme open at a time; or they will interfere with each other like this. Please disable all but one theme extension; and try again.
If you're still seeing the issue, please report the name of theme you are using and a screen clip of the chat window on first opening the campaign with all the extension announcements.

Moon Wizard, thanks for the reply. The only Theme and/or Extensions I have running are shown in this pic: 62342 plus "5E - Death Indicators (Extended) FGU"

I will also point out that the original issue I posted this thread about, Castle & Crusades character sheets and certain hard coded color values having issues with dark themes continues on all the dark themes including the FG Core Dark theme. I realize it's just cosmetic.

You will have to bring up with the C&C ruleset developer about the issues with hard-coding colors; and ask them not to do that. We are moving away from themes trying to go in and fix hard-coded artifacts in base rulesets, as it leads to a lot of extra code to maintain as well as trying to follow every ruleset's development. Tell them specifically to not hard-code the ability score labels; and to use the same framedef name="acicon" definition as all other D&D clone rulesets. Then, everything will work in the Dark mode (as well as other themes) as expected.

I've cleaned up more custom theming. I'm waiting on TLG to give me the green light to remove all custom theming as they are partial to the one they made for the ruleset.
As far as the custom text on the ability scores, those are hard coded to cycle between three colors depending on Primary, Secondary, or not selected. There may not be a color pallette that would work for all Themes but will look into it.
