My 5 Year Campaign Characters All Vanished After the Update

I am quite desperate. I have been playing every odd weekend with my friends and we took a break for a few weeks.

Started the FGU today, and after all got updated it lost everything! The characters vanished, please, help.

(I'm assuming your are the DM and that more than just characters have gone. If you are a player then joining your DMs game will allow you to grab your character since a copy is kept with the DM as well.)
