View Full Version : How can I make the players' attack roll results visible again? (Pathfinder 2e)

I've been playing a campaign with my players for a solid half year now. The chat has been showing whether the enemies and the players hit the target normally or critically, and whether they missed or critically missed. But lately, since about a month or so, the chat has only been showing whether the enemy lands his hit or not. For players, it only shows that they attempted an attack on a target, not If it was "HIT", "CRITICAL HIT" and so on. My players liked to see whether they landed a hit or not, especially when it's a critical result. It provided emotions and reactions from them.
I didn't observe if that started after an update, unfortunately. My first thought was to turn on "shows results to client", but no change.
Is anyone able to tell me what option is responsible for that, in the software or the files?

Welcome to the FG forums.

The campaign option "Chat: Show Results to client" control this. If this is set to "On" then check that the target in the combat tracker is visible to the players (the eye icon below the token in the Combat Tracker).

If the campaign option is on, and the target is visible to the players, then this may be caused by extensions.

When things stop working, or don't work as they should, check the extensions you're running. Extensions change the base ruleset code and can conflict with other extensions or need updates over time. Disable all extensions and try to recreate the issue - if it is present with no extensions enabled then we can investigate further. If the issue goes away with no extensions enabled, then re-enable the extensions you were using one-by-one and try to recreate the issue.

Ooooh, my players don't see the enemies it the combat tracker, so that might be the issue? I didn't know this one, to be honest. This will be the next thing I'll try out for sure.
If that shouldn't work, I'll try the trick with disabling all the extensions. I haven't thought of this one, but it seems so clear to me that this normally is one of the standard solutions for such issues.
Thanks a lot!

Yep, that'll be it.
