View Full Version : Token locking lag

On FGU - I disable token locking outside of turn-by-turn situations (combat) to let the players free explore using LoS. Then when they bump into something that requires narration, I re-enable token locking. But sometimes it seems to take many seconds for the lock to engage (say, 5 seconds), and some players will be able to meander far beyond where I'd tried to pause them. Any ideas here on how to address / mitigate?

More details please. Ruleset? Extensions? Map/map size? Number of PC and NPC tokens? Is it repeatable regardless of the previous? Steps to reproduce? Does it happen in a new campaign or only an existing one?

5E Sharing is Caring
Feature: Aura Effects
Waterdeep Decals

Not sure about this, though I think it's "large". How do I find details for a given battlemap? In this case, I'm using included maps from an adventure module (Dungeon of the Mad Mage).
> Number of PC and NPC tokens?
5 PCs, with maybe one or two NPC tokens outside of combat. During combat more, though I clear them all out after out of combat.
> Is it repeatable regardless of the previous? Steps to reproduce?
Alas, dunno; it's situational where players outpace me.
> Does it happen in a new campaign or only an existing one?
I've only got one campaign; couldn't say.

Try it with Aura Effects turned off. That extension is doing a lot with tokens and calculations so it could very easily be impacting performance.
