Using it just for maps

Is there a way to use FGU just for the maps/ line of site/ tokens.

Yes - you would still need to create the Characters - they only have to have a name and portrait and token they dont have to have everything else.

But the PC's don't need to be much more than Name & Token

There could be other additions to the maps/characters if you want to include things like lighting and dark vision.

This is what I do when playing in person in addition to using it to track PC/NPC hit points.
