I just bought FGU on steam for my Mac book to use during my face to face games. I got to the point were I created 2 instances of the app on my Mac but when I load the campaign on one for the dm it doesn’t appear on the other when I try to join it for my players. I have tried turning off the firewall, changing the port and anything else Google suggested. I have skimmed the forum but nothing helped.I can’t find my world when I look for it on the cloud and every time I try joining using a “local host“ it never connects. I let it run for an hour earlier trying to join my campaign but canceled it. It didn’t even time out. I’m new to FGU so anything you suggest would be lovely.

The recommended usage for FG is to always use the Cloud server type option, which allows the FG servers to help facilitate the network connection between connecting players and the GM machine.

If the GM is using the Cloud server option, then the players must connect to the session using the GM name via the Join Cloud Game section in the Join Campaign screen on the FG launch screen.
* If the game is set to Public by the GM, the player should be able to search and double-click on the game to join it. (Note, there can be multiple pages of servers depending on how specific your search criteria is.)
* If the game is set to Private by the GM, the player won't be able to find it in the list, but must type the user name in the "Join by GM Name" box. When connecting to a game via this option, the upper/lower case of the letters in the user name matters.

If the GM is using the LAN server option, then the GM is indicating that they would like to ensure that all the routing is correct in their network environment so that they can provide players with a specific IP address which the player can enter into the Join LAN Game section. This is not recommended, as this requires the GM to provide a valid IP address that is not blocked for the players to enter. The LAN server option is usually only recommended when running two instances (GM and player) on the same machine, and using the "localhost" tag as the IP address to connect to.

This what I was trying to do. Could I use the cloud to connect two instances on the same device. I can’t connect to anything when using LAN

Hi LordDeath when you create/load your first campaign have you selected Cloud and Public? If not it wont be searchable. If you chose Private then on the player instance use "Join by GM Name".

Yes Damned I had it Public on the cloud but when I searched for it on the players instance I couldn’t find it. Is it because they are both under the same username and if so how could I change that. Or maybe it’s because I only have the standard version.

When I try to join using the gm name it pops up “Cloud server with requested name is not registered with the lobby survey”

P.s. side question: how do I delete campaigns?

If you put the game up can anyone else see it?

You cant delete campaigns from within FG.
On the splash screen click the Folder icon and it will take you to the data folder
Go to campaigns and delete those you no longer want
Make sure you really really dont want them anymore.
While you are there make a backup of the ones you do want to keep

I don’t know if anyone else can see them. I don’t know anyone else that uses it. So I don’t have anyone who can search for it. It’s open right now Uber the username lorddeath. In the top left corner it says “Lobby: connected”

When I try to join using the gm name it pops up “Cloud server with requested name is not registered with the lobby survey”

Yes, that chages everything. You can't host a game with a free account. You said above you have the standard version; so make sure that you have entered your username, password and software key into settings and updated FGU. You can see your key from the store dropdown in the store page if you haven't got it from somewhere else.

Edit: Just saw your addendum. You can find your key if you right click on FGU in you Steam library and go to Manage > CD Key
