View Full Version : Occluders to make a Mirror & One-Way Glass?

Hi
I'm doing a sci-fi themed campaign and have a "cloaked" spaceship in a jungle.
I've been messing around with glass windows and illusory wall, but can't seem to get a combo that seems right.
What I'd like to have happen is the view from inside the ship walls through windows to be unobstructed LOS outwards. However the view from outside ship wall inwards be either a reflection or at least block LOS from seeing inwards.
Any suggestions on how I can achieve something like this?
Thanks,
Zacchaeus

There isn't a 'one way' occluder which would allow this. You can certainly obscure something with an illusionary wall which would obscure something behind it but that blocks line of sight which isn't really what you want. Equally windows allow you to see through them - but that's both ways. I think for what you want to do you'd need to use map layers. Have the spaceship be on a different layer from the rest of the map so that you can make that layer visible to the GM only until the characters 'find' it. You can then make it visible.

If you want to keep it on one map, I'd suggest putting the normal walls and windows for the ship, then just putting a toggle wall over the whole ship that you can toggle off when the party gets inside.

Good Day Reg :)
Could you put the inside of the ship as terrain? That way you can see out but not in? :)

Oh yeah, if you do terrain on top of the normal ship walls and windows, you should get the wanted effect without needing to toggle.

I'd been thinking that might work.
I'll try that, thanks!
