Help!!
Having an issue that's being going for a week or so. If I add npcs directly to the tracker, either from the NPC list or as allies to the PCs through the Add Allies on the CT menu, their names don't show on the map, and they are shown as "Unidentified NPC" on the CT. Have I inadvertently screwed up? Player characters show their names, on the map and the CT, loaded either way.

If I populate from an encounter file, those NPCs will have the appropriate identification. Also, if I open the character file by clicking on the file icon on the CT, or double clicking on the token on the map, the NPC will be correct, including its given name.

What ruleset? And what extensions are you running?

Typically, many rulesets when you add NPCs added to CT they are marked "Unidentified" and in this case they use the unidentified name if they have one, otherwise they show "Unidentified Humanoid" if the ruleset has creature types or "Unidentified NPC". If you toggle the ID action on the CT, it will show their actual name. But I don't see that button on your CT so not sure what to say, it will depend on your ruleset and any extensions you are using.

Thanks for the reply. I will have to review tomorrow, but this is a new behavior I've only seen in the last week or so, and I've been using FGU for several years at least once a week. I am running SWADE, with no new extensions to what I was last month, when this wasn't happening.

There's an eye button to the bottom right of the token of each NPC entry in the CT - click that to identify an individual NPC. If you want to identify all NPCs currently in the CT, click the eye button in the top left of the CT.

This is pretty standard core FG functionality. I don't know exactly when this was introduced to the SWADE ruleset.

Thanks, but perhaps my original question wasn't clear enough. It was the "Unidentified NPC" as a name on the CT, with no name showing on the map token, not the tokens not being visible that I was having trouble with. Fortunately someone else has solved my issue. There are little ID icons to the right of the character names on the CT, that for whatever reason I can't explain now show as crossed out, it is a simple click to activate them again. Why, I have no idea, but at least I can now resolve easily. Thanks to both of you for your input.

I think Moon Wizard has been porting a few CoreRPG updates into Savage Worlds.

Yeah, sorry - I was completely off the mark. Glad you can resolve your issue.

FYI, SavageWorlds ruleset's combat tracker functionality was slightly broken regarding identification. I have resolved the issue in upcoming v5.6.0 version
