Hi - I can’t install Fantasy Grounds Unity on my Windows 10 machine. It’s getting stuck at the FantasyGroundsUpdater stage… any help available appreciated. Yes I’m logged in as an administrator. No I can’t change permissions on the Fantasy Grounds folder - it doesn’t “stick” when I close and reopen - so it appears I don’t have write capabilities on that folder. Erasing it all and reinstalling hasn’t worked (although I will say I have to manually erase as the uninstall doesn’t seem to work).

When you say that the permissions aren't "sticking" when closing and reopening, are you talking about setting the permissions in the operating system via Windows Explorer, and then checking them again via Windows Explorer after editing? If so, that sounds like a bigger permissions issue on your machine.
When "erasing" the application, make sure that you are deleting the SmiteWorks folder under C:\Program Files\; so that both the base folder and the application files are completely gone from your machine. Also, make sure that when you re-install, that the application folder is the default value (C:\Program Files\SmiteWorks\Fantasy Grounds\).
Applications can't force the OS to allow the application to write to the disk; it can only request admin access and it's up to the user to grant it.

Permissions are set. I'm good there. I have turned off all virus protection and firewall protection (suggested by FG when I emailed them). It still won't install the updates. It gets to the updater and just stops. I am using the default folder locations.

* Does the updater show up on your screen at all, or does it just not show up?
* If it does not show up at all, then please try to run C:\Program Files\SmiteWorks\Fantasy Grounds\FGUpdaterEngine\FGUpdaterEngine.exe directly, and let us know the result.
* If it does show up, can you provide more information on "won't install the updates"? Probably a screen clip would be best (Windows + Shift + S to create and save a clip; then use Go Advanced option in forum to upload a file).

Do you recall if you allowed through your firewall upon installation? Sometimes that pop up window gets dismissed or hidden and is not visible. Have you ever had FGU working or is this a new install? Are you using a newer PC?
