When opening some items (not all), I get the error
[string "W:item_main"]:16: attempt to call a global 'updateControl' (a nil value)
This is happening on items from the core SWADE rules.
I loaded a test game with no extensions and no themes.
I deleted the Savage Worlds and CoreRPG rule sets, also the Savage Worlds player and GM modules. I ran an update to pull down new versions.
That didn't resolve the error.
I didn't see this error in the test environment.
Error log attached.

Same error here with any item, whether it was an item I created or one from the basic SWADE package. I unloaded all extensions, no themes loaded.
edit: After reviewing a bunch of stuff, I found that any item that had NO empty fields in it did not throw this error. Any item that did have an empty field (notes, non-ID name, etc) DID throw the error. Additionally, when working on items, if I backspaced so that the field was empty the error popped.

Thanks for reporting. It looks like the Savage Worlds code was calling a specific CoreRPG function that is going away, but the SW updates weren't ready yet and are still in Test channel.
I went ahead and pushed a hot fix for the CoreRPG ruleset to support both the old and new Savage Worlds implementations.

I am seeing an error from CoreRPG ItemIndex with FG 5e. Items and images are coming up blank and generating errors on load.

Since your issue is not the same as the OP, please start a new thread with the details as outlined in the link in my signature. We are going to need more information as well as the first thing you should do is test in a new campaign with no extensions.
Thanks!
