FGU 5E Only records.....

I keep getting "Only records from campaign record lists can be added to encounters."
I am attempting to add a standard creature to an encounter as part of The Scarlet Citadel. My SRD, SC Tome of Beasts and other stuff is loaded and open.
How can I get past this error so I can add an encounter to the existing module?

You need to add NPCs from the campaign list - that is the button on the right hand menu. The error usually only happens when you try to add an NPC from the Combat Tracker into an encounter
