do 2 separate weapons need to be made for RMC RS when using special ammo? like i have bola ammo that does 1d6 damage in addition.

In D&D 5E, yes you do need to create a second weapon. You'll have to see if someone familiar with RMC knows if it is different or experiment on your own.

You can also make an effect to adjust the damage:
DMG:1 (set to self and that ends after the next roll.)

FYI, Rolemaster does not work the way being suggested, it's different from most other FRP systems.
