Hi, how can I assign a specific token to a character so he/she can control it? Thanks a lot and sorry for the basic questions!!! I am pretty new to FG :)

So I think you are using words in a way we don't usually with FG. So let me explain a couple of things that I think will cover your question.
So when a player takes control of a character sheet, they can click on the character portrait to select a portrait. Most rulesets, including D&D 5E will automatically turn the portrait into a token. But, you can drag a token from assets to the token field on the character sheet to overwrite that.
In Roll 20, people think and talk about the token being the creature/monster etc. But in FG, we talk about the NPC as the object that contains all the stats, and the token is just an image associated with the NPC.
To give a plyer control of an NPC, just drag the NPC (from the link handle in the top left corner of the NPC sheet) to the character portrait in the top left of the FG screen. BUT, they won't be able to move it unless you either enable Party Vision and Movement on the map token, or the campaign Option available to the GM AND you also need to set the NPC faction to Friendly (green) on the combat tracker). Note, the player will be able to open and move the NPC, and target and attack with it, but they will not fully own it. If you are looking to do this for a familiar or mount or wildshape form, it is usually recommended to have the player create a full PC for that creature.

In most rulesets (you don’t say what ruleset) you drag the token from assets/tokens and drop it onto the top right of the character sheet. You can also click on the top left box on the character sheet which will open the portraits folder and you can pick one from the choices available. This will automatically fill in the token part with the same image. You can have a different token from the portrait by dragging as described above. Lord Entrails may well have given you a better explanation since I assumed you were talking about tokens and not NPCs. If you do mean what LE said then here’s a video https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?43513-Video-Giving-player-control-of-an-NPC&p=387176#post387176 Do note it was made for Classic so the UI and buttons are completely different but the principle of giving control of an NPC to a player is the same in Unity.
