Hello<

I am a Demo user connecting to my friend's ultimate version of FGU. Our friends from all over can connect and load the material but I do not seem to be able to. Ports 1802 are open in the router. Anything else I can do?

Welcome.

Port 1802 is not used with FGU. is your friend (the GM) using Unity or Classic? Are they running a Cloud Public/Private or LAN game? How are you choosing to connect?

If you and the GM try again, after it fails, you can both do a Compile Logs and attach here so we can see what the logs might be indicating.

Not completely true. In LAN mode FG uses UDP 1802.

The default port in LAN mode is UDP 1802, but can be changed to a different port in the Load Campaign screen.

Hello, thank you all for such quick replies.

The LAN does need to be opened in FG Unity* as LAN connection is not working without. But since I am on the same network and connecting to a cloud with other members on from outside our network I suspect its a connecting thing with the client to cloud.
As I have found out the following; lan connection to same setup campaign, instant access no issues. (with ports open!) Connecting to cloud, game is visible, game is connectable, prompts me for password and acquiring file list loads and stop after bar is a tenth full.
if I host, GM can connect to me instantly

By that time Hosts sees me connect and disconnect.

I find this confusing and dont really know what to do.

Something on the network - or security software on the GMs machine - is preventing some part of the process from working.
I dont know if it is supported - can you try and have GM do a cloud connection but you try and connect on LAN address?

attachement of the log.

Edit:

I did manage to connect via direct *external* IP when on cloud host with no issues. But via GM name, joining campaign its a full stop. (i found this to be working sometimes and sometimes not) Strange, that seems to work but I dont understand the actual issue. But Thanks for the reroute!

It only seems to be able to connect when on lan. I cannot seem to connect to 'cloud' which is strange to me as its a cloud.

Seems like security software or hardware.

Please note that "cloud" is only a cloud broker, you are still connecting to the GM's computer as the server but through different ports which may be the cause of the problem.

We've occasionally seen this and it was related to security on the GM's router and/or Internet Service Provider that was preventing connections that came from within the GMs local network to come back into the GMs local network - which is what the cloud connectivity does.

Does the router have "AP isolation" setting? On mine, this prevents computers on my network from connecting to each other.
