Not a bug, but a suggestion (not too sure where else to put it).
Tomb of Annihilation
02.10.01 1. Command Tents
The text says 1 in 6 chance for a poisonous snake.
Suggestion: make a table similar to the one in the attachment:
I usually do that but there's always a chance I miss things. I'll take a note.

Updated FG, then started loading themes into a campaign to see what they all look like now (no extensions).
At around 21:35 UK time, while selecting a new theme, the Update button showed a new update, so I updated again.
Now my dice are floating!

After the last General update and looking over the new skin, and in order to set things up for a new ca mpaign, I tried to use the Character Wizard, running into a number of issues/comments:
- I do like the new layout in the races choice window
- I tried to create a human bard, but the proficiency selection told me I could get three instruments ( correct), and then gave me only one drop-down list to choose an instrument from, followed by three more drop-down lists for proficiencies, which again was correct.after setting only one instrument and three proficiencies, the mark at the top indicated that I had selected all necessary choices. In addition, when selecting spells, the interface would only display selected cantrips.
- even more of a problem was the Abilities tab: Selecting and moving the Standard Array seemed okay, even though the racial plus one for all abilities was not displayed. ( I later checked and with other lineages the +2/+1 also disappear) trying to go Point Buy, I could not even change any Ability. Finally, because my players enjoy a "common rolled array", I tried manually entering the scores but could find no way to do so.
- when finally accepting the created character, he was put in the characters' list, but still without the starting ASIs.
Now, I'll admit that I haven't used the Wizard in a while, but trying to edit/create a character for my next campaign I will probably still be usinh the "old" drag-n-drop method with my players.
Any ideas what I might be doing wrong?

I tested with the player's handbook Human and Bard. Well first the Bard proficiencies were not parsing correctly and that is an issue to be resolved. I'm not seeing those issues you have relayed with the Abilities tab. The human's 1's show under the Race header. Changing the Method doesn't make them disappear and I can click on the arrow buttons in point buy to increase and decrease the Base boxes. Standard Array also works when I drag and drop the number in the base box to the space you wish to swap. If you scroll all the way to the bottom there is an override box available for the number to be set to whatever is in that box.

Hmmm - odd. I didn't realize a module table may possibly conflict with an extension? In a clean campaign, it works. It's definitely not working in an campaign with 5 or so extensions as that particular entry launches as Lapis Lazuli. I'll have to play around to see what's causing this. My apologies.

Not a bug per se,but my group's having trouble with the LOS placement on a number of walls, especially in mines/dungeons
In player view, my group's finding that most of the walls (what's drawn on the map) are actually hidden by the LOS, so the edges are just black void.
This makes it very difficult for the players to tell if the edges are a wall, or a path hidden by a blocking LOS feature.
I don't know if there's an easy way to move all the LOS markers a few pixels back (farther into the walls), I know we can manually move all of the points.
(We've seen it in other modules, but are currently using Candlekeep's Deep and Creeping Darkness)

Indeed, LoS in earlier modules was drawn right up against the walls on the basis that the wall blocks the line of sight. In later modules after some feedback the Line of Sight is now set back a bit from the walls so that the walls can be 'seen'.

Is there an easy way to fix this after the fact, or will we need to manually reposition each of the LOS points? Is there any plan to go back and update the LOS on the official modules?

The only way would be to redo all the line of sight. I'm disinclined to go back and redo all of the many modules that would require this treatment since it would take weeks to do. You can actually see a small number of pixels through the occluder but in black and white maps like the ones in Candlekeep that's not much use since they are also black.

I took a look at that player map and the LOS is actually drawn well, by hand, with effort to make a minimum number of wall points - and is generally offset back. The problem is the wall edges on that map are solid black which matches the LOS black of unexplored. I suspect that is what WotC gave them.
This is what is making it so hard to differentiate the wall edges from unexplored areas. Basically it's a black and white map using black and white LOS. The problem will only be magnified, if your party is using darkvision instead of a light source. :(
As it's a map color problem, you can do some things to fix it. The easiest would be to tint the whole map so the floor is not white, ie Sepia it. Unlock the map, click layers, click the PlayersMine.jpg layer, click the Tint box, and change FFFFFFFF to FF80613C. This would make the ground light brown. If they are using lights and lanterns, you're done. If they do use dark vision you can help them on the map by giving them color vision, ie drop: VISION: 60 truesight on them which will give them color vision so the can see the floor color. Having the floor color different will allow them to see the difference between unexplored and walls.
To Smiteworks, I'd suggest you sepia or otherwise tint your black and white maps so they won't blend in so perfectly with the black and white LOS.

WotC, D&D Candlekeep Mysteries, Script Errors
I noticed that if you open the module, click on it in the Modules window to populate the links in the right pane then click any of them, ie Encounters, Random Encounters, Images, ect; then try to use the filter at the bottom - the filter works - but you do get script errors:
Script execution error: [string "CoreRPG:ref/scripts/ref_listgroup.lua"]: 44 attempt to index global 'description' (a nil value)
This happens on all the library links. It seems like the filter "assumes" its being called from a popup that has groups, ie a sidebar button.

Definitely going to try this. Related question, is it possible to tint the FoW instead of (or in addition to) the map image? Or even a texture, like a parchment image pattern for the fog as if the map hasn’t been drawn yet. (Yes I know the latter is incredibly unlikely).

If you notice on the Store page under the cover image there is no "LOS" icon for this product. Simple meaning LOS was never added to it and therefore no LOS on the players maps is to be expected.

This is more of an editing flaw than a bug, for Kobold Press Wastes of Chaos. There's no way, in the Fantasy Grounds version, to give players access to the race and subclass options without also letting them see the maps and encounters in the book. Other books, like Tales of the Old Margreve, had all the player info in one "players guide" module and all the adventure information in another. There are adventures in Tales from the Wastes - but also maps, adventures and secret info in WoC. Not sharing it means the players can't build characters using the options in that book. Can this be fixed with an update, splitting the module into a Players version and a Complete (GM's) version?
Also for KP: The Southland Players Guide bug I reported a year ago remains unfixed: The subclass options don't work in the FG character builder. The classes are named, for example, "Barbarian (Southlands)" instead of "Barbarian", so when building a barbarian the Southlands options are not offered, unless you're building a "Barbarian (Southlands)" in which case ONLY the Southlands options are offered. When you try to drop a level of "Barbarian (Southlands) onto a barbarian, or vice versa, FG treats it as multiclassing. I tried simply renaming the Southlands classes but that didn't work.
Zacchaeus
September 20th, 2023, 14:57
I'll pass this on to the developer.
In the meantime you can share the race and subclass with your players in the normal way (right click on the item in the list and select share). As regards the Southland Players Guide I'd suggest not using the Character Wizard. The CW is created with only official WotC content in mind and so third party and homebrew items cause issues.

Wizards, Monsters of the Multiverse, Howler; Actions, Rending Bite
The damage for Rending Bite is input so it always does psychic damage. It's only supposed to do psychic damage if the target is frightened so currently you need to edit the damage on the combat tracker if you don't want to do extra damage. Given that saves from the Mind Breaking Howl make you immune to future howls - most of the time the targets are not going to be frightened.
The way it is now is: "Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 10 (2d6 + 3) piercing damage, plus 22 (4d10) psychic damage if the target is frightened. This attack ignores damage resistance."
I'd suggest you revert the damage text to the Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes wording: "Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 10 (2d6 + 3) piercing damage. If the target is frightened it takes an additional 22 (4d10) psychic damage. This attack ignores damage resistance."

Table problems in Xanathar Guide To Everything:
Hello, I would like to report a bug in several tables in the supplement Xanathar’s Guide To Everything, in the This Is Your Life section, Origins, Personal Decisions, Life Events, Supplemental tables. Many times, the last entry of the tables are missing the second part of the dice.
For example, where it should be written 90-100: Entry, it is instead:
90- empty: entry.
The second part of the dice entry is missing, resulting in, for example rolling a d90, instead of a d100.
I could not track all the tables where it happened, but definitely more than 10 of them. Can you investigate and update this?

Monster manual missing tokens:
Hi, I would like to report the fact that many basic monsters in the Monster Manual are missing tokens. They only have letters, which is really lame. I had to replace too many by hand each time, which is very boring. And because the module is locked (which is logic), I can’t do it once and for all the monsters/npcs that have Letters instead of picture tokens.
Can you update the monster manual to replace the letter tokens by real tokens. For example Wolf, as a W, instead of a wolf token. With so many resources that you already have and sell, it is really not fair to us, don’t you think?
Veterans is the same, and so on… Quite annoying.
So, please update the monster manual, that would be awesome.

THis isn't a bug. Tokens can only be made from the artwork provided by WotC. Since they did not provide artwork for every monster or NPC a letter token is used in those cases.

This is correct. The races (and classes and backgrounds) only appear in the players guide. If they also appeared in the DM guide then they'd be duplicated which can lead to problems when characters are created using the DM guide which players cannot then access.

Do you have the Player version of the Southlands module open?
Usually product modules are divided into a Player module (i.e. player options), and a GM module (i.e. GM-specific data such as NPCs, setting lore, etc.)
If you have it open and are still not seeing the class specializations, we can forward it to the DLC developer for that third party module.

Not true.I get options for every other book that has subclasses, regardless of publisher, except for Southlands.
Fig 1: all 3 barb levels were chosen from "D&D Players Handbook" source. 18 selections are offered, from both KP and WotC books, but not Southlands options. This works the same whether the barb levels are chosen from different books and/or publishers, mix and match, as long as none of them are from Southlands.
Fig 2: all 3 barb levels were "Barbarian (Southlands)". The only options offered are from that book.
Fig.3: what happens when you drag a level from Southlands into a character with levels from any other book. FG thinks you're multiclassing. It hasn't offered a subclass because we don't have 3 levels in either "barbarian" or "barbarian (southlands)".
This is all classes, not just barbarians.

See my response to Zacchaeus. The problem isn't that the specializations aren't there, it's that they are filed as if Southland classes were different classes, so they're not offered as radio buttons when building a character.

Sorry my response was too brief and not very clear. If the publisher has published their material differently from what the standard is then it won't get picked up by FG. If they have named their Classes such as Barbarian (Southlands) then I would assume that only the subclasses for that particular Barbarian will show up. When looking for archetypes FG will look for Barbarian as the class. It will treat Barbarian (Southlands) as a different class from barbarian. If you can point me to the book in the store page I'll see if the developer can change that; however doing so will more than likely break a lot of characters already created and so they may not want to do that.
In the meantime you could edit things yourself. If you drag the sub class links into the specialization list (click the button at the top of the class window) you can then edit that specialization so that it points to Barbarian rather than Barbarian (Southlands). FG should then be able to pick the archetypes up. (This assumes that the only difference between the standard barbarian and the Southlands one is the archetypes).

When creating new characters, there a several races where the "language" option just states that you can have common and one other language. However unlike other races, it does not give you the box to select languages. As such you can not even select common in the chat box after the creation. This big includes but is not limited to the Minotaur and all 4 Genasi races.
In other races, the language selection defaults to Common, and gives you a secondary choice. In these bugged races, you can't even select common. Much less any other language.

Welcome to the forums.
I can't say why exactly that is happening since the wording in the mentioned races is exactly the same in all the other races which work. I'll need to do some digging to see if I can figure that out.
EDIT: Ok, I've had a chance to look at this. Superteddy spotted that languages is misspelled in the Minotaur race, so that's the problem there. However we both get the Genasi races to work just fine. so not sure why it isn't working for you.

Hello,
I've identified a bug with the latest version of FGU with respect to leveling clerics. I created a fresh cleric of the life domain, and as soon as I leveled the character up via the leveling wizard, it added every channel divinity feature for all domains (as long as a module is loaded that introduces one, it adds it) to the actions tab, not just the life domain. I've not levelled this character past level 2, as I felt this was enough to re-produce the issue. I've also attached some screenshots to showcase the issue.
The steps to reproduce are as follows:
1. Create a fresh cleric (life domain), level 1 (race, background, equipment and stats have no effect on this). I am unsure if this bug is simply specific to the life domain or not.
2. level the character up from level 1 to level 2
3. Look at the actions tab

Given the dates I doubt that the amendments have gone out yet (the developer is saying the changes have been submitted to Smiteworks - not that they have been released). I would, however, expect them to be released in today's update.

Small typo in the Players Handbook. Under Chapter 3-> Classes -> Cleric -> Channel Divinity: Radiance of the Dawn. 1st sentence - "Starting at 2nd level, you can use your Channel Divinity so harness sunlight..." Should be " Channel Divinity to harness sunlight..." I know it's small and nitpicky, but I ran across this when I was playing Friday, and double checked it with my hardcopy.

I was reading the Pact Boon section of the warlock class and noticed that part of the last sentence was typed twice. It's only in the entry from the Player's Handbook, the ones from Xanathar's Guide to Everything, Sword Coast Adventure's Guide, and Tasha's Cauldron of Everything don't have that typo.

Thanks. I looked it over and the sheet is missing the specialization to the Druid. Also, other things are on the sheet that have me a bit perplexed. Ability Score Improvement feature being on the abilities tab for instance for a level 2 character and empty feat entries. I fixed the issue with the level up by adding the Circle of the Land to your sheet, but found other issues with the level up process I have pushed for the next 5E update. I tested further with normal drag and dropping to the sheet and it just wasn't operating correctly.
I would suggest creating a new character sheet in the mean time as may take some time for the update to be pushed LIVE as the ruleset is going into lockdown for a system wide update. You can create the new character and then transfer your items, treasure, and actions over from the previous sheet to get you back up and running to where you left off.

Going by the error you are getting, you do not have the D&D Player's Handbook open. That is the official full version. Going by the posts after your original, you only have the SRD and Basic Rulesets open. You do not need all of them open, but they will not conflict with each other. It will just make the the sidebar menus a mess of duplicates and triplicates.

Rime of the Frostmaiden: Table Rune Chamber Effect - the last entry should be 91-100. There is no upper value set, so the table rolls a d91 instead of d100.
Also, viewing any Table from Rime of the Frostmaiden causes the table to be marked as "Edited", so any table that has been viewed will not be updated when the module is updated unless reverted first.

That isn't a module issue related to the table being listed as edited. That is a CoreRPG process. I'll look into the table not going to 100.

Figured I'd mention that it seems module dependent - some modules do this, some don't. E.g. Rime of the Frostmaiden and Wild Beyond the Witchlight show any table as edited after viewing it, whereas Curse of Strahd and Out of the Abyss don't.
In Rime of the Frostmaiden, Reference > Ch 2 > Karkolohk > K6. Healers' Huts: the encounter link is broken and opens a new encounter. It should link to 03.12.03.06 K6. Healers' Huts.

All battlemaps are now a combined player and DM map. The DM part of the map is on a separate layer which is hidden by default from the players; so the map you mention is the player map with a hidden DM layer. If you unlock the map you'll see both layers
The adventure hooks are in both the Asteria and Euryale reference manual entries in 'The Princess and the Gardener' sub chapter.

I can't remember exactly why some modules do this and others don't; but I think it has something to do with par5e. Certainly Wild was done in Par5e whereas CoS was created in FG and exported. I can't remember offhand how OotA was done; I don't have the local files immediately to hand. I don't know exactly how Superteddy created Rime but it was probably all technical :)

Also, the 1,000 and 100 entries have a closing quote at the end of their description with no opening quote.

This won't be a Character Wizard problem so by accident you've reported correctly (Character Wizard bugs have their own thread). Now, having said that what books do you have open - there's probably many modules with ball bearings in them, including adventures, where the cost, and weight, and the quantity available could be different. The only entry in the PHB is the one for Ball Bearings (1,000).

Ball Bearings (1,000) from D&D Player's Handbook: has a closing quote at the end of the text but no opening quote.
Ball Bearings (1,000) from D&D Essentials Kit Rulebook: Identical to PHB including the closing quote (no opening quote).

Ball Bearings (100) from 5E SRD Data: The text is identical to PHB including the closing quote (no opening quote), but with a cost of 1 cp (1/100 of the others) and weight of 0.2 (1/10 of the others).
Ball Bearings (Bag Of 1,000) from D&D Basic Rules - Players: a) no ending quote (good), b) ending of text is "... doesn't need to make the saving throw." vs the others are "... doesn't need to make this save.", c) Subtype is "Standard Adventuring Gear" where the others are all "Standard" (all 5 have a Type = Adventuring Gear).

Thanks for the additional information.
First if you have the PHB then you don't need the SRD Data, Essentials, or Basic rules open (or even shared). So you should remove those from the modules shared with your players. Having all of those open could cause confusion and possibly also break characters created with them. Not entirely sure why the SRD has the extra 100 Ball bearings. It's not in the original documentation, so I'll take a note to remove that. I don't see anything wrong with the wording since they mean the same thing. I'll take a note to remove the quotes since as you point out they are superfluous but fortunately don't affect anything.
