Does the One Time-Pricing mean you pay that fee once a year OR do you pay it once and you no longer have to pay the fee?

As I paid for ultimate in 2020 I've far outpaced the cost of the monthly price. Never understood why anyone would go any other way if they plan to play for years and not just a few months!
