Hi, there's a spelling error in the updating compiler for FGU. See how it says Uinity instead of Unity. I think it is preventing my update from working. My folder is named Unity, so I don't think it is an issue on my end? Anyway, could you please check it for me?

Moved to the house of healing, which is the best place to post stuff like this.

That information is pulled from the settings defined in the FG Settings for Application directory. I just checked, and they are correct in the installer. My guess is that you accidentally entered an extra character in the field at some point when viewing the Settings.

To fix, go into the correct folder, run FantasyGroundsUpdater.exe, click on Settings, and remove the extra character.

Can someone please translate that for me?

Appreciate the reply, I fumbled around and found this but I can't seem to locate that folder and don't appear to have access to change it. I'm not an IT type of guy im afraid. I'll keep trying but I don't really know what I'm doing here.

I don't know how to delete my posts - but I figured it out - thank you.

Well actually no. I changed the Uinity folder but it's still refusing to update. Do I need to uninstall it?

Exactly what is happening now? What error are you getting (if any)?

Where is your FantasyGrounds.exe file located? Check in File explorer to see exactly where it's located. Is it C:\Program Files\SmiteWorks\Fantasy Grounds Unity or somewhere else?

Check the properties of the Window shortcut you use to start Fantasy Grounds - what is the "Target" and what is the "Start in:" value?

It's located here - looks normal?

Not sure how to check that shortcut - right-click doesn't give me the option to access properties just says unity playback engine, close window and unpin from taskbar

Yes, that's normal (ish) - not exactly the default locations, but should be OK. Unfortunately, FG is still looking in the misspelled directory.

Run the FantasyGroundsUpdater.exe application from this directory. Click the "Settings" button and go to the "Advanced" tab - what location is shown for the "App Directory"? Is it still the misspelled one?

That looks normal. You should have a Properties option in the right click menu when right clicking on the icon; otherwise, the shortcut is messed up. Just delete the shortcut, and drag a new one from the folder you showed using FantasyGrounds.exe and the Control plus Shift keys.

Shortcuts pinned to the taskbar don't have properties. Unpin the shortcut and check the base shortcut (usually on your desktop) to see the properties.

Shortcuts pinned to the taskbar don't have properties. Unpin the shortcut and check the base shortcut (usually on your desktop) to see the properties.

NOTE: If you Hold Shift+Right Click, you can get the standard context menu from a Pinned Taskbar icon.

SHIFT + Right-Click on the pinned app shortcut when FG isn't running (you won't see the options if FG is running), then select Properties.

What are the "Target" and "Start in:" values?

Thank you all very much for trying to help - I just uninstalled it and reinstalled it and now it seems to be updating.

Yes, yes I did. And 2 weeks of work.

And the funny part is I still have the same issue. *sigh* So, it won't let me change this target or start in - it gives me this error.

The uninstall does not delete any data folders. I bet you have two different data folders set up on your computer from changes to the data folder settings at some point.

He does. I’ve been helping him on Discord for the last hour or so. He’s managed to install his data folder into the same folder as the installation, which I thought the installer checked for and prevented. His original data seems to be in the default location.

The shortcut error is probably related to the installation folder being misspelled to Uinity.
