Hi all. Happy Friday.
"Please remember not to update right before a game starts."
This is possibly the dumbest question of the day. Can I ask the reason for this? Like, what might happen if I updated right before a game starts? I'm still quite new to FGU so forgive my ignorance please.

This is mainly aimed at people who use a lot (or indeed any) extensions. When there's an update to the code (that is either the client or ruleset code) then there is the potential that extensions will no longer work. This can have a variety of effects ranging from minor inconvenience to your game not loading or major things breaking. Taking the time to sort that out (identifying which extensions, disabling them, trying again etc) can take some time if you use a lot of extensions. So, if you update right before the start of a session, and your game is broken you'll waste a part of, or possibly all of the session just trying to get things moving.
THuis, don't update just before a session.

Updates can also affect people who's security programs have a problem with the executable changing. Meaning sometimes a person will update, and unknown to them, their security software will now quarantine FG and they won't be able to start FG. And if this is done right before game time, they may not know how to resolve this in time to allow play.
