So, I'm running a west marches style game, where different groups play on different days as they prefer to pair up, going to different parts of the map to do different things. Up to now, everyone finished their mission in one day - this time, one group didnt.

And they arent playing again before I run the next group; so I have the combat tracker loaded with all the combatants doing what they are all doing in combat. Furthermore, a second group is going on a more complex mission and may end up in the exact same position.

So I'm not sure what to do; do I find a way to record the entire state of battle for group 1, and clear the combat chart to load up #2? Do I, I dont know, copy the campaign or something and have a identical copy that I have the other group in? Frankly, I'm not even sure how to do that, but I'm thinking there is a way to do so?

Suggestions appreciated!

You can make a copy of the campaign folder and give the copy a different name. Then you can clear the CT or whatever else you need to do for the next group. If they don't finish then you'll need to make a second copy of the campaign with another different name before you replace the original campaign folder with the copy you made for the first group. However once you split the campaign like that it will remain split for ever really since what happens in one campaign will no longer be seen in the other.

Generally I wouldn't recommend this at all since as you can imagine it'll get very complicated and you'll end up making a mistake and losing data. If you are running more than one group I'd suggest running different campaigns entirely for each group. But I understand that West Marches is a bit different to that since what one group does can effect what another group might do.

You are probably better taking a screenshot of the first campaigns CT and using that to recreate the situation. But whatever you do it will get complicated.

It would be awesome if the team could implement multiple combat trackers. Someone has kind of already done this, but it is only for items so that they can be interacted with on the map by the players. I can't remember the extension, but I know I have it. Seems like that guy could probably come up with a way to generate multiple combat trackers using a derivation of his/her current work.
