View Full Version : [5e] Renaming a campaign... anything to be aware of?

I finished my first campaign this weekend gone - a 2yr long one.
It could not have been as big, bold and bombastic as it was without FGU for storing an insane amount of notes and NPCs.
Now that I'm looking to prepare 'campaign 2', I was wondering whether I could just rename the campaign on the launcher menu. Would this have an adverse affects? Is there a better way to do it?

You rename the campaign by renaming the campaign folder inside the campaigns folder in FGData. There's no adverse effect in renaming a campaign in that way.

Good to know, thank you! I lost some data recently, when getting a new PC and having a HDD fail, so I'm being overly-cautious about anything negative occurring.

Take a back up first if you are worried about anything.

Make a backup anyway, even if you aren't worried about anything. And then make a offline backup of that backup.

Note, just don't change the campaign folder name while you are in the campaign :) And make the backup when FG is not running.

Better to make another backup of the original data...
