I have been trying to fix an this issue for so long and I just cant seem to get it to work. how do I share my map and only the map with my players?! I had them load that section of the campaign book but that gave them access to things they shouldn't see, but even when they load the player only map its just a black screen with their tokens being the only thing visible, I tried to take off the world mask but that didn't fix it. This is my first time using fantasy grounds and I really like it and I'm sure there is something simple that I'm missing.

Right-click the map and choose sharing, then share sheet (https://fantasygroundsunity.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FGCP/pages/996640166/Working+with+Images+as+the+GM#Right-Click-Menus).

You shouldn't need to share the campaign book with them at all. When you want players to see the map, open it yourself, drag the player tokens from the combat tracker to the map, then right-click the map and from the radial menu, select Sharing, then Share Record.

If they only see their tokens and not the map, check if Lighting on the map is turned on - if there is no light source and they don't have darkvision, they won't be able to actually see anything on the map.

You can practice and see what the players see by running a second instance of Fantasy Grounds on another computer. Then Join Game and enter localhost for the address where it asks for IP address.

There are some quick start guides available on the wiki.

For reasons I don’t understand you can only share a map not ‘Expanded full screen’

Then once shared you can safely expand to max size.

But there are some real good videos now on fantasy grounds own YouTube channel

You can actually join you own game as a player from the SAME computer. It need not be another computer. The tutorial videos are priceless. Get your players to watch tutorial videos as well.
