Ok, so I want any of the effects I put on my players to be seen by them. In a recent update, any effect I put on the players is invisible to them unless I go into the options and and show the GM rolls. I don't want my players to see my GM roll but still want them to see it when I give them an effect. I've tried every combo I can think of in the combat area of the options. I don't mind if it clutter the CT but i need to keep my rolls hidden.
Thanks for the help,

On the CT line for the effect are a couple of toggles, such as On/Skip/Off and GM/All. Click the button that says GM and then the effect will be visible to All.
See the section on Effects here: https://fantasygroundsunity.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FGCP/pages/996641984/5E+Combat+Tracker#DM-View---Toggles

Where are you adding the effects from?
By default effects added to a PC are not hidden. The only way to add an effect to the players and it be automatically hidden is if you create custom effects in the effects dialg and deliberately 'close' the eye icon before applying it. You can also, as LE mentions above, hide the ffect on the CT once the effects is applied. Again, however, this has to be deliberately done and isn't the default. If that isn't what you are doing then I would suspect some extension interfering with the process.
Show GM rolls has nothing to do with effect visibility on the Combat Tracker. It only hides the DM rolls from players in chat.

Ok i see the toggle! So there is that. next question would be how to set that to the standard. When I put a new effect on a PC it is still hidden unless I toggle it? If I drag the effect on the PC from a NPC its still only selected for GM only. If I have a NPC target a PC then do the effect it's now visable.

@ Zacchaeus my custom effects have the open eye and my players still cannot see the effect unless I turn off GM rolls.
I only have a few extensions and this was not an issue 2 weeks ago.

I don't know if you can change the default behavior. Which as Mr Z mentions, I think is visible to all to start. But it might be tied to Show GM Rolls and if that option does affect it, I don't think you can change the default behavior separately. But, their might be an extension that you are using that might change that.

I'll drop my extensions and try it again to test...
I dropped the 3 extensions I use and its still an issue.

maybe I can put in a ticket.
What's really frustrating is that the effect is hidden even if the eye is open or closed.

What ruleset are you using?

5th edition DnD I should have mentioned that before.

As I said above the Show DM roll has nothing to do with effects, custom or otherwise.
The screenshots below show what I mean. In both cases the Show DM rolls is off but the player view only shows the effect when it is applied with the eye set to visible.
Try in a new campaign without extensions. I still think an extension is the problem - or possibly if you are using a module of effects that could also be an issue.

This is a brand new campaign. Made 2 effects with an open and closed eye.
GM rolls are hidden
If you look in the chat log both effects are hidden to the character regardless the eye is open or closed.
No extensions

The "eye" in the chat log indicates the chat log message is hidden, it doesn't necessarily indicate that the effect will be hidden to the player in the combat tracker.
Start another instance of FG on the same computer as the GM instance and join the campaign as a player - then see how the effects in the combat tracker look from a player perspective, they should be similar to the screenshots Zacchaeus shows in post #11.

Fair enough bout the chat log. However if I show GM rolls that 'eye' disappears and my player can see any custom effect I put on him as the default effect is set to 'VSBL'
If I hide GM rolls then any custom effect is set to 'GM' by default and my player cannot see the effect regardless if the eye in the effect screen is open or closed.
I'm working with my player and he is giving me real time responses.

But I do see it working on his computer.
Only extentions I used were:
Druid Wild Shapes
5E- Expanded NPC's
5E- Theogeeks's improved Critical
Oh and
CoreRPG - Has Initiative Indicator
Again this wasn't an issue about 2-3 weeks ago.

Here is my setting for combat. Am I missing something? Anywhere?
I thought the 'show effects on notice' would be my answer but no

Are you applying the effects by drag/dropping?
It appears there is an issue where drag/dropping effects with the campaign option Chat: Show GM rolls set to off always hides the effect.
EDIT: and this is also present in a base CoreRPG campaign, so it's the base code not just the D&D 5e ruleset code.

Yes I am drag and dropping. so that answers that.
Is there a place where I can put in a ticket or do they already know and are working on it?

Yes, I can see this as well if effects are dragged and dropped rather than just applied to a targeted character.
I've directed the developers attention to this thread.
