This is actually my first ever extension which evolved over the past 1.5 years and birthed most of my other extensions. After all this time only in private play it's time to unleash the beast into the wild.

First of all, great care has been done by me and fellow developers to make extensions compatible with each other.

Added compatibility

All of my own extensions
Drain and Permanent Bonuses by bmos
Advanced Item Actions by bmos
Live HP by bmos
Extra Actions by Zygmunt (after they update the pull request) :)
Extended Automation by Kelrugem

All other extensions should work. If you find some incompatibilities please let me know in the forum thread. This extension does several things and I will list them by character sheet tab.

Above tabs

Displays notes, race, class, and a bigger portrait in every tab.
Adds an "add" button to the race and class. After adding a race, the add race button changes to a link. After adding a class, the add class button stays to easily add another class. Both buttons open each their corresponding overview list.

Main

Doesn't list race and class anymore.
Complete redesign of the layout.
Adds the Base Attack field for easier tracking of such a vital number.
Adds resistances, immunites, and other special qualities fields beneath damage reduction. These have like damage reduction no automation.
Adds a notesbox with formatted text

Combat

Changed sizes and offsets

Abilities

Adds a class identifier to the class abilities if the characters has more than one class for easier identification. This can be turned on/off via the per user option Advanced Charsheet: Show Class Identifier. The default is off.

Inventory

Adds a slot field besides the location. This has no automation.

Notes

Removes the now redundant notes from here.

Actions

Splits into Spells, Weapons, Items, and Others. These can be changed by the now additional horizontal tabs. The Spells tab is the default when loading and spell classes get automatically added here.
Deleted the display mode cycler. The only display mode is now actions.
Spells, Items, and Others are all tabs for spell classes to easier distribute the possbile spell classes and spells for items, feats, class features, racial features, etc. They share the same current mode. If you change the mode on one tab, you change them on all
Weapons is pretty much the same as before
If you are using Advanced Item Actions, spells from scrolls or wands now automatically land in the Items tab
Adds an action tracker to track standard, move, full-round, and swift actions. These have no automation. This can be turned on/off via a per usr option Advanced Charsheet: Show Action Tracker. The default is off.

Misc

Some size and offset changes in templates

For the rest I can take a look at the weekend, shouldn't be too complicated.

Edit: The anchoring warnings I already patched in Drain and Permanent Bonuses. Bmos will publish that on a new release, you can ignore those ;)

Edit2: I guess MadNomad doesn't seem to use the rather newish CoreRPG template for his subwindow definition. LDTE I have to investigate.

I turned off the above 3 extensions and still getting the following error when I open the action tab: 54476

That's winnowing pursuits, eh, I forgot about that one. I tried to get it working some weeks ago ... but it's been complicated to get working.

- LDTE is fixed from my side.
- Winnowing Pursuit I have also fixed. Anathemort will upload the changes on the weekend.
- I am waiting on an answer from Mad Nomad (paid extension and I can't load/look into it).

As soon as I have a fix for the journals (which should be the easiest one) I'll upload the new version.

I have one more thing on PF1e, the bottom of the Action tab normally has a place that includes a +/-, Mode choice, Display choice, Add new spell or weapon and edit: 54496

I do not see these options on the Adv char sheet. unless its under the search / Filter "bar" on that photo? (that is a picture without Adv Charsheet running) not sure if that is an extension add. I will go check.

OK so figured out 2 extension issues:

I am having fun trying to help all the extensions play nicely. We absolutely love everything they add to FG. Thank you for being willing to work with the other coders. And thx again for all the hard work. Don’t forget to play some too.

My version of that shows 0.3 not 0.1 and nothing is show, probaly because of my overriding. Can't say without looking into the code.

question about the main portrait, is there a way to make it use the transparent background if the png has one (Like your token shows up)? mine is coming up white (this may be a FGU issue) my portrait is created like a token, so it is round with transparent "corners". it shows up white on your character sheet, I would love it to show like the token does. any thoughts? I swear they were transparent a while ago... 54514

You can either have no transparency or a predefined tranparency from my observing and testing, I would have to predefine the circular transparency for everyone then...

However, you can open the dungeon theme extension and take a look at the provided portrait .png files in graphics/portraits/. Enlarge the files to be in line with my provided ones and overwrite mine - should work.

Could also write a mini extension for that ... with loadorder > 28.

These have like damage reduction no automation.

Only for quick information. Parsing that would open many more compatibility problems. I suggest to just use the Advanced Effect fork for 3.5e/PFRPG by bmos!

I have no issue with that. I just know when I put dark vision 30 feet I actually get dark vision 30 feet on the map and don’t have to manage that. I already have resistances or immunities coded and I just need to know if I might need to remove those

a few more things:

With this loaded: 54527
Everything works except Hero Points is not showing that I see (Not a deal breaker as we don't really use it ATM)

I did notice that when the character sheet is at its smallest size, some things fall off the right side on a few tabs: 54528, 54529, 54530

Not a big deal as it is fine if you widen the char. sheet.

But I now when I load all 54 extensions, something breaks the Extra Actions bar. I will search it down. and it looks like the portrait gets cut off as well. I also highlighted 3 words. 2 get cut off (Ranged and wounds - change to range and wound?) and subdual not sure what that is except it has the magnifying glass to adjust HP. If that is all it is for then the magnifying glass could be on the HP and the subdual box could be removed.

Loaded up fine (at first glance at least) with 50 or so extensions without Extended automation loaded. unfortunately We need Kel's extension, so I hope this helps

Kel said he is currently in some important work projects and doesn't have much time to update things. Figured the window size was not really doable.

I put the 1.1.6 EA in my extensions folder and it did not overwrite anything. I do not see anything like "extra action" in Ext or Vault to delete., so it is still bringing up ver 1.1

can't figure out what to download for the PR patch and where it should be put.

will test once I figure it out

works as far as I can tell with almost all of the 56 extensions we use. (Turn off Extra Actions, Hero Points and Malady tracker)

1) Conflict with Advanced effects & Extended Overlay (https://forge.fantasygrounds.com/shop/items/29/view) AND extra actions (https://forge.fantasygrounds.com/shop/items/132/view) (with ADV character sheet on) both work fine independent of each other. The error makes the top ACS section smaller and it can be scrolled up and down independant of the rest of the CS. Extra Actions bar floats in the middle on top of that window.

Glad it helps.

And the one other thing (we discussed before) was the portraits have a white background. without Adv CS, all of the white is gone on the Character window portraits and the active character bar (no idea what its called)

Just introduced it to one of the other players... He absolutely LOVES the Action tab with 4 sections (and that items, spells, and weapons go to the correct tabs)

I noticed 1 more thing as I was redoing my character sheet. the + - (Expand & Collapse all) is missing on the items and other tabs.

Not sure if it can be done but it would be nice to have an 'add Spell Class' button on the weapons tab, so weapon or very combat oriented effects could be added there (Sneak attack, combat expertise, 2 weapon fighting...) things that I turn on and off in melee depending on the situation. (If added a + - would be good here too)

I like the + - even in small view but I think it is because of this extension (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?73477-Rearrange-Items-on-the-Action-Tab) that a few nice coders put together really at my request. example: 54634 So I can tell what each thing is without opening them.

obviously no + - is needed on the weapons tab unless you add the spell functionality. and for now any non item/spell powers are going to the Other tab for us as well

Its funny, looking back 30 - 40 years ago when I played D&D.. I was always hunting for the perfect character sheet, constantly rewriting my characters everytime they leveled... funny how things change and yet stay the same.

it has a compatibility issue with your sheet.

I found another conflict (doesn't break anything though)

BMOS's Advanced Effects (https://forge.fantasygrounds.com/shop/items/33/view). this allows permanent effects to be added to a PC on the combat tab as well as effects can also be added to items that will take effect when equipped or using it as an action. both Still work but The effect does not show up on the character sheet or on the item. but if I open the effect window, all of the info is there.

The combat tab and ability/feat lists are for effects that aren't linked to items.

Also there is an upstream issue with AE right now where you type in an effect and it shows up blank until you close and open the window. See the 5E thread for more info.

Are you sure you aren't misunderstanding how AE works? Item effects aren't supposed to show up in the character sheet combat tab. They just show up in the combat tracker when they're equipped.

I know my pictures were a little confusing, but basically with only Adv effects loaded, both the combat tab effects AND the Item adv effects worked on the combat tracker and showed up properly in either the combat tab or item description respectively. when adv charsheet was also loaded, everything still worked BUT whatever effect was typed into the effect popup window Descriptions/conditions/modifiers would not show up on the combat tab or item effect lines. it would show [] only. but the effect would transfer to the combat tracker as it should and if you opened the [] effect's edit window, the effect would still be there as typed.

I know my pictures were a little confusing, but basically with only Adv effects loaded, both the combat tab effects AND the Item adv effects worked on the combat tracker and showed up properly in either the combat tab or item description respectively. when adv charsheet was also loaded, everything still worked BUT whatever effect was typed into the effect popup window Descriptions/conditions/modifiers would not show up on the combat tab or item effect lines. it would show [] only. but the effect would transfer to the combat tracker as it should and if you opened the [] effect's edit window, the effect would still be there as typed.

I will update & retestJust pushed that update (https://github.com/FG-Unofficial-Developers-Guild/FG-PFRPG-Advanced-Effects/compare/8823602388b484840feead295f9e20159fde87a4...d7f0cf9 05fd6df4a9116eb12588c0a7da0234d1a) now. I may have fixed it in a different way than Celestian did since their source code was not published yet.
I'm surprised it was working for you when used solo, that was not working for me (at least not in all places as it seems to be now).
Anyway, hopefully that fixed it :)

Otherwise create spellclasses and spells manually there.

I think I might just create hero points as an option in this extension, I've already done it in my ruleset. Just the layout needs to be adjusted, probably around the weekend.

Hmm, that shouldn't be the case. Do you have the newest forge version? I think there was a name change some time ago (months). Maybe a delete and redownload fixes it.

I don't see where is the + for your Attack modifiers extension... what am i missing?

Edit: what i was missing was enabling the extension :dough:

Also: when putting de controls for tracking the actions, i want to make a suggestion for PFRPG/3.5: add a label for attacks of opportunity, add a textbox for numbers (quantity of aoos) and a number of checkbox in relation of that number (minimum 1).

The more I review this extension, the more inlove i am with it!!

You're using a very old version of Live-HP from within your extensions folder (at least that's written in your screenshot). Delete that file there and load the campaign again with the Forge vesion (which is encrypted in the vault folder). Live-HP v2.10 seems to be current, your version is 2.5.

1. Click "get" button on Forge (if you haven't already)
2. Open FG Launcher
3. Click Update (even if it isn't red)
4. It will download to Vault or Extensions folder (depending on how this extension is configured)

I have a question, is there any way for the players to get the spell descriptions? I have a few players that dont mind the actions only, because the spell list is short and simple and my paladin and cleric want the spell descriptions because they have so many to pick from. or maybe have the spell descriptions during prep mode and the actions during combat? I as the GM love this sheet for pathfinder it makes setting things up for newbies simple and everything is so easy to find

I developed this with 3.5e in mind, where nothing besides the SRD is licensed and pretty much everyhtign homebrew has no short descriptions, that's why I got rid of them.

My gaming group is restarting our dormant PFRPG1e game (which is the game that I run). We cycle through about 4 different systems/campaigns/VTTs, and so this game has lain fallow for several years. This means that the skills and knowledge associated with running this game (on FG) have likewise been unused for that interval.

In addition to that, I'm also moving the campaign to FGU. This means that not only am I reacquainting myself with long-idle skills and knowledge, but I must add new skills/knowledge (w.r.t. FGU).

On our first couple of nights I was reminded (by players who are also refreshing their unused knowledge) that FG's PFRPG1e character sheet lacks some automation features that they think should be present...

Anyway, that's the background for this post (because I'm intending to apply the Advanced Character Sheet extension.)

My first question is related to one of my player's Monk character: How does the Advanced Character Sheet account for a Base Attack Bonus that specifies a second attack, e.g. +7/+2 (Level 10 Monk - and, of course, eventually there will be 3 attacks).

Also, and more generally, there are fields which seem like they could be automated (even on the original sheet), but aren't. For example, the aforementioned BAB... This is specified by level on the Monk (or other) Class sheet. Why not extract it from the relevant table and apply it automatically? This also goes for the Save bonuses (in the same table)?

Regarding the BAB and the #att field, I did see that before, and should have tried making changes to the player's sheet to see how it worked.

However, my question actually stemmed from the fact that the BAB field (which must be manually set) doesn't allow for the syntax that appears in the Class table. i.e., you can't specify a BAB of "+7/+2" for a level 10 Monk, or "+16/+7/+2" for a level 16 Monk. Where do those 2nd and 3rd numbers come from when you change the #att field?

No worries, RL comes first. and I posted it to SW since it works with half of the SW themes, I suspect it is on their end more than yours. either the 4 working ones actually need updated AND your extension does too OR the 4 broken ones were missed and need updated and no change to you.

I've now corrected most obvious changes on my part. The top part of the character sheet though is a bit weird/tricky since some themes now override those parts for whatever reason.
I've created a new post for the devs to look at and comment on. If this is intended, I'll see how I can fix it on my part.

lately ever since this most recent update to fantasy grounds several of my players who play casters are having issues with there sheet being sluggish to react.
when on the spell section scrolling is sluggish and delayed and repositioning the sheet is as well.
I will do more research on what may be causing this but i thought i should at least let you know.

The more spells they had the worse it was.

The more spells they had the worse it was.
I did more poking around and this seems to be a general issue with fantasy ground and prepared casters.

I would think this is simply the more items are in the lists on the actions tab the more resources it takes up. Casters would be the worst for this. The more things on the character sheet, more list items, the more resources are taken up and the slower the machine will be. Unless of course you have a 16 core i9 with 32 gigs of ram. :) I regularly see FG taking up a multitude of gigs of ram by itself.

Firstly i run a 12 gen i7 and around 48 gb of ram. So under normal circumstances it should never be a problem. The issue was with how their nested lists were optimized and the fact that they updated what version of unity they were using.

Basically on top of the optimization issues the new version of unity it changed how they updated game objects.
meaning that the Nested list of a spell sheet was being updated an insane amount of times within a frame the extra processing caused the sheet to be unresponsive in several key ways. This extension actually helped lessen the load by splitting it up into different tabs. meaning it did not need to load or update it all each frame.

4.4.8 update seems to have broken something.
My players are getting an error when trying to create or open character sheets:
[ERROR] Handler error: [string "CoreRPG:scripts/manager_characterlist.lua"]:173: attempt to call field 'getData' (a nil value)
This goes away if I disable this extension: EXTENSION: 3.5E/PFRPG Advanced Charsheet - v1.5 by Zarestia
Not seeing any error as GM.
Unfortunately I have a lot of extensions installed, so the problem may be some interaction between them. I can post the list if that's any use.
Any advice on pinpointing the root cause would be great.

I removed just this extension and the error went away.
I reverted the corerpg, 3.5 and pf1 pak files to what they were before the latest patch and the errors went away.
Going to back stuff up from now on before doing an update, cause this one was painful.
The items in the other button/tab completely disappeared from the Actions tab.

Interesting, As GM I get an error message when I log into FG

I don't believe it's another mod because If I disable all other mods and only use Adv Char Sheet I still get the exact same error

I beleive it has something to do with the change where character portraits are always on the screen with the new version of FG
They do not appear on the screen with AdvChar Sheet enabled

Same issues, and it's definitely a conflict with the new portrait stuff.
On the GM side, the console always pops open at start (sometimes no error). On the player side, it spams them with error messages like above. Happens for them on opening sheet, or attempting to type into chat.

Love Advanced Charsheet, but I hope this gets updated!
I would hate to have to toss this extension.

Oh, and as per rmilmine, I can confirm that it seems that it is just this extension giving me error messages.
I don't know if it is just the portraits as per one post.
Possibly the listcalls on the charsheet are an issue as I see in the error log.

To expand on it a bit...
Go to the rulesets folder and rename CoreRPG so it's a .zip, then unzip it. Find the file rmilmine said and copy it. Zip CoreRPG back up and return the original file type (.pak as I recall).
Go to your extension folder, rename the Advanced Charsheet to a .zip, and unzip it. Find the file with the same name and replace it with the one you copied. Rezip the extension and rename it back to .ext

This worked for me as well, though I still hope the actual extension gets updated.

I'm glad to hear all is good.
This was just a particularly annoying way that the update broke things, but we still appreciate your great extension, and your response.

For those who don't want to dig into the program for the fix, an alternative is to have all your players type "/console skip" into the chat. The portraits will still be missing, but there will be no more spamming of errors. Unfortunately, it would need to be done every log in, I believe.

If you have a folder with an extension within it, that folder will take precedence over the .ext file.
What this means is that you will need to delete the folder once the extension is fixed.
FG will still download the latest ext file, but the app won't use it if you have it also in a folder.

On another note good to hear that you are busy in real life instead of something worse.

In case that's not the official term; I mean the field to the right of each spell name that has a short description of the spells. We use that quite a bit for little notes on each spell or charges if it's an item.

Is that intentional or am I looking at a conflict somewhere? I tried with a couple different themes, but it didn't matter. I didn't see any option to hide/show that field.

Huh, I believe you are correct. in Vanilla PFrpg/3.5 there is a drop down option at the bottom called Display that will switch views

That is intentional and is in there since the beginning.
I thought that field to be rather useless for myself so I got rid of it (and way less coding to do) :D
I'll see what I can do about that.

Just to follow up thought... Since it's not something "official", perhaps it doesn't need to be as complicated as the original. I know there's a drop down to get it to show the summary. The players I've seen use it are mostly new and are not that familiar with the spells. They'll put little notes to themselves about the use of the spell. And actually even some senior players who are running complex characters seem to use that for quick notes. Perhaps it can be just a blank section for text. Without any functionality. Just a notes field? Anyway, just thinking out loud.

Strangely, I did not get an update notification.
Once updated, I can see the new level up button, but the token layout is still the same (Pf1). I haven't yet done a troubleshoot for extension conflict.
Edit: similar behavior with only the one extension loaded. New level up button, but the portrait/token layout is still the same.

I have attempted to update via both the Forge and GitHub, and it still only shows version 1.5 in the FG chat when I start a campaign, with the portraits not working.

I've rechecked and the right version is uploaded. Please check your extensions folder if you have any unzipped extension in there.

After my last post, I got another update, which did indeed have an unzipped version. So I had 2 versions in my extensions folder. Keeping only the newest one, everything looks good now.
