Hello happy people,

I'm looking to help a player of mine. He is coming back to my game after a short break. His first game he had ZERO issues and everything went smooth. His second game (previous Monday of this week) he was repeatedly disconnected. He could not maintain a connection for more than a few minutes. We talked to a few people on the FGC discord and he moved his computer to a hard wired connection and we did some testing and the situation remains the same. I had him send me his logs and a screenshot. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

As you probably know, it's going to be something about your one player's computer or network. Some of the common things are "Parental Controls" "Advanced Security" "Flood Protection". And these types of settings might be found on the computer or the router/gateway or even on the ISPs website (i.e. Cox and a few other ISPs provide "Advanced Security" and one of the things it does is prevent what it sees as flood attacks, i.e. bulk downloads such as when a player joins a game).

As a GM, what you can look at is the amount of data you have shared. Such as images. Also, what books and how many the player has set to load. Minimizing all of that helps prevent security from thinking their is an attack and shutting down the connection.
