None of the points on screen are start or end points. It seems to occur more around mitered corners (which I use a lot).
Load the attached campaign and load the only image and you should see it too.

Edit: In fact I can widen the gap by adjusting the bottom and top points by small increments. In fact the points to the left and right have no affect on the issue.
