I'm simplifying the D&D 5e Treasure Tables for my campaign and have created my own tables for finding spell components. I have Spell Component tables created for 25 gp, 50 gp, 100 gp, and 250 gp.
My problem is when I try to do a Treasure Hoard, which references the Spell Component tables. I copied the format from the existing DMG Hoard tables and here is where my problem child is:
[25 gp Spell Components][2x][50 gp Spell Components][2x][100 gp Spell Components][250 gp Spell Components]
The intent is 1 roll on the 25 gp, 2 rolls on the 50 and 100 gp, and 1 roll on the 250 gp tables. Instead, FGU rolls twice on the 25 and 50 and once on the 100 and 250. When I try to move the [2x] around, to this:
[25 gp Spell Components][50 gp Spell Components][2x][100 gp Spell Components][2x][250 gp Spell Components]
It still gives me the same rolls (twice on 25 and 50, once on 50 and 100).
Is there a limit to the number of other tables you can reference in a single table? Or am I missing something?
