Messy breakdown - I live in Australia and my players live in Canada. I sometimes have trouble getting players to connect so sometimes I use a virtual PC to play. That means I have two versions of my campaigns - one on the home PC and one on my shadow. Recently I created a new one-shot campaign on my HOME pc. When we had troubles connecting I copied the campaign folder from that PC to my virtual PC - forgetting about the fact that my OTHER campaigns had advanced on that virtual PC! I went to open my main campaign and found it had reverted to a state from like, a year ago - presumably because I copied the campaign folder over entirely. I guess I thought it would merge the documents but I seem to have overwritten them instead.
Is this situation salvagable? I clearly wasn't thinking right when this happened under the pressure of getting the one shot underway.
Updates: I found a backup from march, but that's still a few months of lost work. I also looked for previous versions in windows but it is showing none.
