In the Party Sheet you can sell party equipment for coins. Is there some way to deal with buying equipment in FGU? So far all I can see for players buying equipment in-game is to manually drag things from the Items database and then manually edit their own coins.

Googling lead to some old threads for FGC that recommended an obsolete Locations module, no longer available, but I can't seem to find any other references.

There may be some newer extension options, but that could depend on what ruleset you're using. Which ruleset are you referring to?

Oh.. sorry, makes sense you'd need to know that. D&D 5E.

https://forge.fantasygrounds.com/shop/items/136/view Adds some ability for the players to take items and manually enter what they are "paying" for it. But not automated.

I know some others have used item parcels with negative gold amounts on them. But not sure if tat's up to date. Once upon a time it was on the forums.

Myself, I let the players handle it themselves, I just tell them any market or discounts they get from the standard prices.

Thanks. That Mad Nomad mod looks like it would help. It's mostly the awkwardness of having to manually edit coin counts, and do math around making change that I'm trying to solve.

Try this module from the DMsGuild, it does exactly what your asking for: https://www.dmsguild.com/product/300130/Fantasy-Grounds-Coin-Conversion--PHB-Store

There are also a couple of different shop/store extensions available for 5E:

Sometimes simpler is better. FG characters sheets can make change for you.

Just for anyone else following this thread instead of "making change" manually you can type the negative cost of a item in the mod box in the bottom left, ie -75 for Chain Mail and then drag and drop the -75 onto the field on the character sheet on the inventory tab that hold the characters gold total. The character sheet will then calculate the new gold total for you. So you don't have to ever "make change" if you don't want too.

This is amazing!! I had no idea that this was thing. There are so many little hidden gems in FGU.

Mod box in the bottom left of... what? I don't see anything that resembles that on a character sheet, so I'm not sure what you're talking about.

Not on the character sheet. The Mod box at the bottom left of the UI beside the dice. You can actually do this with any number field not just the mod box.

Oh, I see. That's only going to work with one coin type though, and won't solve the problem of making change.

If a character has 1GP, 0 SP... and I drag -5 to the SP field... then they've got 1GP, -5SP. What I want is for them to have 0GP, 5SP when I'm done.

FG has no concept of change. There’s no calculations like that when it comes to coinage.
