targeting

i know that PCs can target NPCs simply by clicking on the NPC in question, but is there a way of getting/allowing NPCs to target PCs (or indeed other NPCs)? this would be immensely helpful.

No there is not. Unless you have an NPC setup with a character sheet and that character active you can not target anything with an NPC.
