I am currently making some Objects/NPCs for D&D5E. Things like a portcullis, large double doors, and a large wagon. How do people handle Objects Damage Threshold using FG Unity?

Had an idea to drop the standard Damage Threshold and give some Objects a little more HP and some Damage Resist to Slashing, and Immunity to Piercing. The extra HP is to replace the Damage Threshold. Not a perfect solution but it would work for most situations. I had been reducing damage manually as the DM but It felt wrong to reduce the damage on the players after it had been calculated.

Does anyone have a good solution they use?

You can either go the route that the SRD did, and bake your assumptions into the AC/HP and damage/condition immunities of the NPC.
Ex: Animated Armor (SRD)
https://5thsrd.org/gamemaster_rules/monsters/animated_armor/

Or, the version of the ruleset currently in the beta Test channel now provides a damage threshold field for NPCs; and you can wait for that to be released.

If you give the object a trait called Damage Threshold and mention in the description of the amount of damage then the object will automatically resist all damage up to that amount. This is already in the ruleset (the beta just adds that into a different field). See the wiki here https://fantasygroundsunity.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FGCP/pages/996642031/5E+Effects+for+Advanced+Automation#Damage

That helps a lot thank you for the info and link.

It works as you said.

I know it wasn't me who asked for this change.
But I figured I would express my thanks for the update.
