I subscribed to the Ultimate package and am hosting a game for a bunch of friends, but ive ran into some issues.

Some of my players wanted to make artificers, battle mages, etc. However these common classes and specializations arent even available for them to select or import into the game. So far from what I have found, the only way for them to do this, is if I spend over $150 on modules in the store.

Is this true or is there another way?

Thank you for your time.

Welcome to the forums and FG Community! All the character sheets are plain text so they can build what ever they want, they just won't have some of the build automation.

So, these classes can be inputted manually, but not put into the build automation. Interesting. Thank you!

If it is 5e then the version in test will make it even easier to create subclasses. You can duplicate an existing class that is close to what you want and go from there. I believe that there is a video by Zac that shows how to do this that is stickied in the 5e forum.

Yes, that is correct, the automation can be a bit tricky at first to get right on many of the record types. Copying a SRD record and seeing how it is setup will give a great example of what is to be expected. So you could manually enter data from a physical book into Fantasy Grounds.
