My Campaign on Fantasy Grounds Unity disappeared...help.

Hi

Any help is appreciated.

I was online with a player trying to figure out why as a dm I could access the outlander background by creating a character but the outlander did not appear on my players character options.
I logged out to reopen the game and the whole campaign has disappeared...


Please help.

I spent ages just trying to figure out how to attach my screenshot that is sitting on my desktop with my compiled files.

I press insert image nothing is catching..please help.

Press the "Go advanced" button at the bottom of the reply window, then click the paperclip button in the toolbar to add an attachment.

Click the "Insert Image" icon in the Quick Reply tool bar.
Select the "From Computer" tab
Select the "Choose File" button
Browse to your image and select it.
Select the "Upload File(s)" button (it may not appear as a button, depending upon the theme)

So, to clarify - the campaign hasn't "disappeared". You see it in your campaign list and can select the campaign, but when you try to load it you get this error?

What ruleset is this campaign for?

Unfortunately, my campaign is not on my campaign list... and so I can no longer select it.

But other campaigns that I created, so that I could learn how to use FGU are still there in the Campaign list.

Put the attached campaign.xml file in /Users/danielledietz/SmiteWorks/Fantasy Grounds/campaigns/1# Combat Tracker Basics

Then restart Fantasy Grounds. Do you get any errors? Do you see the campaign now?

If you start FG and click on the folder button on the upper left, it should open a Finder window to this location:
/Users/danielledietz/SmiteWorks/Fantasy Grounds/

From there, you will be able to find the specific campaign folder. Make sure to close and re-open FG after updating the files.

1) Download and save campaign.xml (from post #14 above) to a location on your computer - remember where you saved it.
2) In Finder on your Mac navigate to where you saved in campaign.xml file in step #1. Select campaign.xml and then copy it (Edit -> Copy or Command+C).
3) Now navigate to /Users/danielledietz/SmiteWorks/Fantasy Grounds/campaigns/1# Combat Tracker Basics and paste the file (Edit -> Paste or Command+V)

Now, startup Fantasy Grounds (stop it and restart it if it's already running).

You need to copy over campaign.xml so that the filename stays campaign.xml. To make sure, delete the current campaign.xml file (in that directory only). Then copy/paste the campaign.xml you downloaded.

should I copy and then paste onto the combat tracker blue folder or

when I am inside the combat folder use ( control and v ) it feels like I will accidentally paste onto something else because there is no empty space...

Even now when I try control c to copy it which is fine but when I do control v nothing happens.

I put my mouse over Campaignregistry.lu because I see no other space to put it.

The campaign.xml that I tried to drag I had to put it on my desk top first then drag it.

I would love to copy and paste it but not sure how to do it in this way.

pressing ''edit'' and holding the ''option key'' until ''paste'' gives way to ''move item here'' ...But even the paste cut and move items here are a dull color showing I cant use them, at this particular moment.

For macOS, it's Command+C for Copy, and Command+V for paste.

It looks like you have copied over a different file since that's nowhere close to being a campaign.xml file. Delete that file, then download a fresh copy of the file in post #14 provided by Trenloe. Then copy that file into the campaign folder. Don't change the name or do anything else to it (I see no reason for the file name to change even given MacOS weirdness at times); so just copy and paste the file as is.

though all my pc sheets are gone and my combat tracker is empty.


How can I delete all my campaigns and just start over from fresh?

To delete a campaign just delete the folder with the campaign name on it.

Your players (assuming that they joined your came at some point) will have a local copy of their characters.

I am so sorry to ask you any more questions but I bought the license and they have a free demo how/where can they find their local copy when they log back in ?

When they join your new campaign, they should be able to open the Character selection window (which I think usually opens automatically). From there they should be able to click the icon in the lower right corner Import. Then their characters from all campaigns will be listed and they can bring in the local copy.

One caveat is that you will want to change the name of your campaign to something different than the original campaign, so that the empty campaign data does not overwrite the local player character cached versions when they connect to your game.
