Is there a way to create a story and have parts of it be seen by players and other parts only able to be seen by the DM? Sorry if this has been asked before. Thanks for you help

Story entries, by default are only shown to the DM. If you want to show a section of the entry to the players, ie read aloud text, you can use "Paragraph Types" -> "Chat Text" that will put the text into a box that you can drag and drop into the chat window.

This only works for each paragraph. So if you do need a large amount you might just want to separate out the stuff to be seen by the players and put it in its own story entry and just share the whole story entry.

I believe their are some extensions that will do this, but I haven't used them that way so am not sure. Checkout Mad Nomand's Player Journal 2 and Damned's? (or is it Trenloe's?) Player Agency extensions. One or both of those might do what you are looking for.

You can also have the DM story entry with links to other more player based story entries - then share just the player story entries as needed.
Or, have a player story entry with links to GM only story entries. If you don't share the GM story entry the players won't be able to access it.

Not exactly what you're asking for, but might be quick things to try to see if they work OK for you.

Thanks guys! I will have a look at these ideas and see if they work for me.
Really appreciate the help!

Generally you dont share the Stories with the players.
And definitely you should not be sharing Adventure modules with the players.
Possibly you are misunderstanding how to use them?
