I had painted on this particular map before, adding flames and such to, what will be, a burning farm. I shifted my attention to story tabs and notes, plotting out how I'd the Pc's to progress and contingencies if they decide they don't want to go the direction I set before them....
About 15 minutes later, I decided I need to put in some corpses of the farm's livestock. But the map will no longer let me paint on the image. I tried stamp tool, brush, switching the horse to a fallen person asset, closing and reopening the image, closing and reopening FGU, creating a new layer, putting paint layers in a folder, taking them out.
I really have no idea what is up.
I just tried it on a different image and I am getting nothing there either. I can see the selection boxes if I switch to the selection tool, but there is no image there.
Any help would be appreciated.
Edit:
I don't know if this relevant, but when I try to import an image named "MAP Cliffside", a jpg, FGU will not import it. It'll import other maps, but not this one. I thought it may have been mis-extensioned, but Gimp, Infran, Photos and Paint all open it as a jpg. I can import another random image off my hard drive, just not this one for some reason.
Edit 2: I switched the file to png and back to jpg with infran, thinking there may be an interlace problem, but no luck. The wife suggested switching again to ping and trying that. FGU accepted the image then. I do not know why fgu didn't like that particular image as a jpg. *shrug*
Edit 3: Sorry for so many edits, but I am experimenting as I go.
I tried switching to different images to paint on and with only SW brushes. They seem to work. I switched back to the burning barn and painting with SW brushes. Bingo! Success. So, I'm thinking that somehow the brushes I had been using no longer work for some reason? I don't know why that would be, but I did see the scaling of all my non-SW assets changed after the last big patch. Maybe the new patch doesn't play nice with my other assets, which would be a bummer.
