My Necromancer player wants to use summoned skelotons, wights and such in game. What is the best way to give him control over such creatures so i do not have to run them? Are there pregenerated undead characters avalable?

Thanks!

Create them as PCs. No pre-generated creatures I know of, but their is tons of content you might be able to find on a search here, te Forge, and/or the DMsGuild.

You can also look into various extensions that handle wildshape and polymorph and companions. Certainly at least one of those will have additional functionality you can use.

If these are standard summoned creatures you can give the player access to the NPC records - see this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eS5p68O5EuQ

With the additional proviso of: If you are using Unity then you'll need to turn on Party Vision and Movement (in options). Otherwise players can only interact with tokens they own. (Shared NPCs are never owned by the player - the DM still owns it - it's only shared with the player).

Discussed in this thread: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?43513-Video-Giving-player-control-of-an-NPC

Another option is to use the FriendZone extension (if using 5E) or the "Cohorts and Companions" extension if using 2E, 3.5, PF1, PF2, 4E, OSE, or Swords and Wizardry. It allows NPCs to be dragged to a section of the character sheet, granting the PC ownership/control of the NPCs. This eliminates the need for the GM to turn on party vision, preserving the unique per-player view of the map and only the player that actually owns the NPC can control it.

Both of these extensions are available for free on the Forge.

Cheers,
