Summary: Normally, when a player is typing, other players (and the GM) can see this indicated above that player's character portrait as a chat bubble. However, players cannot see this icon for players who joined later than them. For example, let's say the players join in this order: P1 -> P2 -> P3. In this situation, P1 cannot see either P2 or P3's indicator. P2 can see P1's, but not P3's. And everything works fine for P3. If P1 then disconnects, and reconnects, without the other players doing anything, then they can now see everyone (but P2 still can't see P3's, but can see P1s, at least until they disconnect). In other words, it works as if when a player connects, they get a list of every player that can show a typing indicator, but when a new player connects, that list is not updated.
