I have been hosting a game for over a year now and it seems the last 3-4 months I will have fantasy grounds crash on me. Looking for some help on what is going on. Sometimes everyone is online and other times it is just one person. Last night I had one person and the game must have crashed 5-6 times. The only issues I am seeing are "NETWORK STATUS: [Error]" and a line in the FantasyGrounds Player saying "Lobby: Unable to read data from the transport connection: A blocking operation was interrupted by a call to WSACancelBlockingCall."

I did a little digging through the other posts and was not seeing a solution. I will say that I am aware of the port flooding and that is not an issue as I own my router and modem. I also typically load the game like 30 minutes before anyone joins to make sure FGU is loaded properly. Now I know the log says I am running Windows 10, but I and actually running Windows 11. Could that be apart of the issue? Thank you for the help.

I think we'll need your and the players complete log files. From what you have provided something is blocking the connection. Possibly your anti virus or maybe something your ISP is doing.

The player is getting a network error immediately on launching. Looks like their security software is blocking FantasyGrounds.exe from accessing the network.

Some things to look at in this Network Troubleshooting FG Wiki page: https://fantasygroundsunity.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FGCP/pages/1981349889/Network+Troubleshooting

Ok this crash just happened with a different player. Here are the log files. I will look though the networking issues list there to see if anything lines up. I will say this didnt happen right at launch, and it seems to be on my end because it is crashing out on me before it crashes for the players. We were in the program for 30 minutes before it crashed as well.

Thanks again for the help guys.

I'm not clear what you mean by "crash". I don't see any application exit/errors in the logs. Are you just referring to a network disconnect?

If we're talking about a network disconnect, I see an error message in the Unity engine log for "cravenater08" stating "Client side disconnect timeout".

This implies that the data on the connection started was dropped or started being blocked/throttled at some point after or during the transfer of files. If this is happening for multiple players, then it's most likely a GM network issue. If it's only happening for one player, then it's most likely a player network issue. Some security software and/or Internet router settings can incorrectly decide that the heavy burst of initial traffic when an FG client is connecting to a FG host is somehow traffic that should be blocked or throttled.

We provide a wiki article that goes over some of the most common culprits here:
